These 2 crows were sitting on the line across the street from my house.
Now the one on the right was telling the other, that they should give me a real nice show.

Pretty dove, Pelle.

This is a Grey Butcherbird. His or her leg has been like this for almost two years. We have no idea how it happened and contemplated trying to nab him/her and take her to a vet to see if anything could be done to relocate the leg. The claw still opens and closes, but is totally useless. We thought s/he'd have difficulty surviving and preening and we have no idea how s/he manages that, but the feathers are always in tip top condition. At the moment, it's pretty obvious s/he's taking food to babies. We give him or her supplementary feeds. As the name suggests, they are insectivorous and carnivorous.

Here's a face-on shot. These birds have the most rich and melodic song and also imitate other birds.

Thanks Pelle and Margaret....glad that Butcherbird has been able to survive with that mangled foot.

Well I had a nearly tame goldfinch today. She did lots of posing for me.
