And a really, really bad shot of 2 hummers in my tree!

Nanny, have you been hanging out on my back patio? I swear that two hummer shot is the one that I missed this morning! They were perched at just the same angel on an ash tree that looks similar. I was so amazed. I'm glad you got the shot!

BTW, Margaret, ditto on the ROTFLOL!

Garden is full of robins & catbirds which take off every time we go outside--must be the young who aren't used to people as yet.

Tiller, OR(Zone 8a)

Did any of you catch "Oregon Birds" on PBS last night? Great show, and they said Mourning Doves mate for life. I'd not heard that before.

Great pix, folks!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

The way some of mine act...I think they need to get divorced! lol

Marlton, NJ

Mate For Life is just till one dies then they get a new mate.

The way I see them getting taken by Coopers Hawks I imagine they go through quite a few mates.

My babies are growing up. This towhee has been a regular since a fledgling.

The house finches had a good brood this year. I can count on the young ones coming everyday. This young male is beginning to finally get some color.

Another cold, gloomy, rainy, day here in Anchorage, AK. So, my friends came around, begging for a hand out.

This is the first time I've seen the Jays perched on the truck.

So funny! Those Stellers Jays are such characters!

Anchorage, AK(Zone 4a)

I don't know who had more fun this afternoon, the Jays finding places to hide peanuts, or me taking pictures. Any way I shot 152 pictures in about 20 minutes. A few shots were good enough to keep.

Beautiful pics Marna! I just saw one of my House Wrens the other day, first time in a

while.

You know, when they aren't making that loud call/song, you hardly notice them. Again, all I've been hearing is the scold call.

Tiller, OR(Zone 8a)

pelle, I know what mate for life means. Really I do.

Here's a Belted Kingfisher for you. Someday I'll have more glass, but this is about as close as I've been to one, even with the 300mm.

Hi tiger I know you understand what it means, I was saying it for other people.

I think some think that mates for life means that even after the mate dies the other mourns for the rest of their life forgoing any other mate.

Nice Kingfisher!

Tiller, OR(Zone 8a)

Twice I put the words "smile" after my second sentence, and it wouldn't come up!

I believe this is a Great Egret.

Is there any way to save pics posted here to like a "favorites" folder of anything? And if so , would someone please write to me the instructions or refer me to a place to learn how.
I have seen so many wonderful pics that I would love to be able to see again sometime. (I am not very computer savvy.....much "does not compute" for me.

Thanks,
Sheri

This Harbor Seal was swimming with the birds.................

Either it just consumed a sour fish, or it's ready to cry like a baby, LOL

Really nice pic of the (yes) Great Egret tiger! Love the scene and oh my that seal harbor is really funny!

Hi Sherri, I'm not aware of a way to keep your favorite pics from here unless it can be done through the tag system which I know nothing about. :-) That would be a big folder;wouldn't it?

My sister just ordered this camera kit with 2 lenses from B&H. Its her first dslr and I'm sure she's going to love it. Thanks again Linth!

By the way the kit got to her house 24 hours after ordering it!

pelle, you are so right about the mate for thing. I just had a neighbor ask about cardinals and what happens to the one left if the other dies.

That seal is too cute tiger!

Birdie,

I would suggest that you start an entry in your blog/diary. In it you can paste the links of each post, or for that matter, the image itself.

For instance, Right click on Nanny's catbird (control click for those on a MAC).
Choose Open Link in new window.
Copy the URL to paste in your BLOG. This gives you the POST (picture with words)

--or--

Right click on Nanny's catbird (control click for those on a MAC).
Choose Open Link in new window.
Right click on the Picture and chose VIEW IMAGE.
Copy the URL to paste in your BLOG. This gives you the picture only.

PERTH, Australia

Birdie, you can right click on the image, go to "save as" and download directly into a personal folder. I just tested it with the fantastic seal pic and saved it in a separate folder and sure, 'nuff, it's there.
