Aqua Grow Bulbs and such

Crestview, FL

I remember when I was a young child my mother had these things she bought in a garden store that were like little tubes with rubber like lids on them, she would stick them in the pots after she would plant her seeds and such, I believe it was to water the root of the plant, she was very successful in her planting endeavors, as I have seen her plant things I thought were dead and presto, the plant would thrive, so she had a green thumb. Does anyone know what these things are and where I might can buy them?

Joy, I don't know much about those grow bulbs but my mom wants some. I use water cyrtals to reduce my watering. There a polymer that holds like2-300X it's weight in water. As the soil dries out it pulls the water from the crystals. I know these work and you can buy them at lowes. Thsi is all I know lets see if someone else will chime in with actual experience, Xmas is coming and if they work Mom's getting them.

Here are some things I've seen that may be like what you're talking about:

There are a number of products out there along these lines, but I think people have had some mixed experiences with them--I've seen some other threads around here where people had trouble getting them to deliver the right amount of water for the length of time that they advertise, some of them tend to clog up, etc so you're probably better off watering things yourself unless you're going on vacation or something.

Thanks you guys for the info will check out all the sites. Yes, I would think that clogging might be a problem also, and I love my plants too much not to inspect them daily, I'm retired so can do that, but, have a tendency of over watering sometimes, you can love a plant to death also. LOL
