Louise, that IS a neat nursery.....I'm checking it out online... http://www.mulhalls.com/
She's About To..........#14
Hey Hotties! Louise you are a doll on the batwing! You're a doll on everything.. Sorry your sis is otherwise engaged... Maybe our mini hottie RU should be at Mulhalls in Omaha!?! Sounds like my kind of nursery! Joyce, you and Theresa need to come enable us I mean control us on our choices! lol Nadine, so nice you are getting a break and I'm glad to hear you are still intact.. I thought about you! Lovely display on the twangers on MEM! Golllllllllly!! She's gorgeous! Has it been cooler there? I think temps have a lot to do with coloring.. Aw, Donna.. they will grow towards moonlight, even.. sure makes them look awkward, poor lil things... mine took 2 or 3 days to straighten out..I was getting very concerned.. lol, don't try to force them.. Cat, thanks for calling an expert... I think caladiums take temps a little cooler, but maybe I'll try it again in the pot only offer water a few times..won't be too devastating if I lose a couple more common ones. Caladiums and tuberoses are different.. go to the DG Plant files and search them out.. I've always wondered why I don't have any, (I mean they have to be brought inside, I need more plants and bulbs to bring in.. ;) they are pretty and smell good, too.. (where's my list) lol
Aw! Donna, cute.. I've raised a few litters of sheppards.. Columbo and Bullet They are a very well-rounded good dog.. and Labs, great loving personalities, good with children, too, both dedicated to their human families.. but you know that. I'm having partly sunny skies, took a break from the basement for a bite of nourishment.. slow going down there.. Good gosh, Karen, DON'T post links like that!!! It IS in driving distance.. (thanks, going there now)
http://www.mulhalls.com/growers.asp I think it is even BIGGER than Arnold's, where Joyce and her friend Theresa and I met!!! http://www.arnoldsgreenhouse.com/ Louise and Karen.. you little enablers.. did you see the deals! 25-75 percent off tropicals!!! Going back to look when I have more time... back down to the "mole hole" the kids are standing here waiting on ME!! lol
I know Bonnie, I have been there twice and not even seen it all. It is gigantic. The statuary and fountains alone are mesmerizing. I have a funny pic of my hubby checking out a roman style gazebo that you can buy by the piece. they have a huge selection of plants there. Good idea on spring RU there. You would love that place.
I'm drooling.. it's a is a must for a road trip. Donna, I did try to turn them so the sun would pull the bent over part back the right way. I do everything I can to not have them laying down with sun on them.. get up at 4 a.m.... be late getting to work...
This is my first year for tuberoses and I love them! Talk about a smell to die for!!!
AuntB when to you want to meet in Omaha? Race ya...LOL
Been working on the garden room, can't figure out what to do first, work in garden or on room.
Only 16 more ceiling tiles left to put up. Put one cabinet in place and I am ready to start sticking up the rest of them, but DH has the cabinets block getting his stuff ready to go to a swap meet next week. I threw on all the garden tools I have purchased that don't work, and that was alot. If I can get a buck out of them I will be happy.
Still have all the yard waste to pickup from yesterday and there is alot of that also. Think I will have him bring the big tractor over.
My little metal wagon like yours has a flat and has had a flat along time but I drag it along any way. I think Habor Freight has some cheap tires, I need to take one off and go by there and see if I can find one to fit. Sure would roll better...LOL
Beautiful day....back out
cat I love them too. I think I like the singles better though. They have a stronger scent and open much earlier. My doubles (first year for these) did not open all the way, they smell great though. My singles open in July. My doubles just opened a couple weeks ago, still going.
can you get the flats fixed like a car tire? Just curious. seems silly to have a tire cost that much for a wagon!
I put all mine in pots and they have been opening for about a month now. The last pot is just now starting to bloom. I am planning on putting them in the ground next spring though. Too much watering!
Afternoon girlies..
Just got back home from church.. and thought I'd get on.. see what ya'll have to say, before it got too long..LOL
I'm going out in a lil to "see about taking a few pics.. and see what I can do.. I am going to delete the ones I have, and start over.. I think I know what I was doing wrong.. boy.. there's just too much info for me to retain!!
Donna.. great wagon.. I just bought Lyle one and cost $85.!!!! Your brugs look soo good, and they will straighten out. I had a lil one that got tipped over, and i thought id was a goner, but in no time it straightened up.
Bonnie... I have more lil buds on CG.. I gotta go count!!... BTW.. I forgot to tell you on the MG's .. sure thing.. I'll share the seeds with ya'll.. if I get any..lol
Karen... since you gave us the hyperlink to those websites, and I didn't see where they SHIP... I guess you'll be driving us up there to get some of those bargains..right?????
Louise.. I need to see a pic of this batwing thing... almost sounds as spooky as Clemies epi..LOL
Kim.. sorry about the "loss", but thankfully ya'll are ok..in fact..
I am glad all of you are ok from ol Hannah..TG!!
Happy Grandparents Day!!!
Cat, thanks for getting that explanation, very informative. AuntB thanks for clarifying I have not check PF yet, fear factor, ya know, something else I just gotta have. I’ll use the method posted for the Caladiums. I did get the burgs up early this morning before the sun was near them but it was already light out. I also turned them, nothing yet but I’m sure it will take awhile they were laying down for just under 24 hours. You hotties are cracking me up here with the wonder women/super hottie thing. When I picture being morphed into a character I don’t think of the basic super hero’s, I see Super Grover from Sesame Street, the little blue guy with the red cape that crashes into everything. That would be me. The GH’s ya’ll posted look great, glad they are far far away. Yeah, ya made me look. Okay, reading on down the line here and I see too many nice comments about the Tuberose so now I will have to check it out. I’ve been outside most all day, cleaning up and killing some annuals that have seen better days. I empted 50 or so pots, soaked them in bleach water and now are set to dry in the sun. I got a good size pile going in the upper front quarter, it will become and addition to the raised bed I got out of last years dumps. Back to work, couple of good hours left in the day here.
It has been cooler for the last few days here..but don't know how long it will last..the Storm IKE can't be a hurricane as long as the Gulf Waters are cool or cold..LOL....been cleaning up the place since next month is my Round Up here at my house..too much stuff to do ..sigh...
Cat I put the tuberose in the ground the first year I had them. They did not bloom until very late and the flowers were sparse. They do much better for me in pots. The soil is warmer for them I guess. Here is the link on the batwing.

Still trying to be patient on my brug buds. I feel like I am waiting for childbirth...sheesh!
Nadine, you ARE super woman! All that sewing and now cleaning! How do you do it all??!!
Hey hotties, long day today over here, managed to go to house 2 and no brug losses, yippie, doing the happy dance over here! Donna, I love your pics of the brugs and trailer and those darling doggies, so funny with the socks. My copo does not touch shoes or socks, sorry for ya my friend!
Thanks to all for the good wishes and no losses. I was really happy today!
Hi Louise, happgarden aunt b, cat, beckie, kim, dark moon, please we are growing to be quite a large group, I remember it was only 4 or 5 of us? So where is Meg for that matter, lady I am making the banana pie on DH birthday Sept 23 , sorry if I omit names, just bear with me. BUT I am inviting all for dinner tonight, I have a real spanish paella cooking as we speak, I know I posted a pic of one of them a while back but that one was made with Spaniard noodles, this is is PAELLA WITH RICE! Recipe from the mother country Spain and it came from little mother in law, she is really littel under 5 feet!
OK I'll go now and here is a nice bouquet for all of you to enjoy, I wish we were all closer and could meet each other. Anyway here I go, pic of the paella later, dinner will be ready soon! Love you all! Clem
Clemen, Bad hottie telling us about the Paella, I love it, noodles, rice or pasta, I don’t care which. All are a little different, Spanish, Portuguese or Italian, but oh so good. Not nice to post though while I’m contemplating between frozen or take out pizza.
I am so there!!!! YUMMO ;p
That looks delish, so yummy. Lets see 4 hour drive, I’ll have it for a midnight snack.
Wow. Have I missed alot. Just have a moment to thank you all for having Amiyah and me in your thoughts and prayers. My husband and I have been taking "shifts" so to speak because this poor thing won't eat and won't sleep because of the pain she is in. Yesterday morning it was confirmed at Urgent Care that this is indeed Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. Having to split visitation with both the Father and her Mother, my daughter is tough enough, but not able to pin point who is exposing this baby to MRSA and now this, is quite frustrating. I still need to wait to get the culture test back for the MRSA but this little gal has blisters on her tongue, her gums are swollen, she has blisters in her throat, on the palm of her hands and the bottom of her feet. I did however, get her to eat graham crackers soaked in milk this evening at 6:00 pm. I today was alot better then yesterday. It's a virus so we just have to ride the storm. Wow. Too many storms around these parts lately. Hope all is well for you in the Hurricane zones. Thank you.
Sandy
Ok Guys noone showed up after all of my hard work, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and lol, so I gave it to my neighbor! ZZZZZZZZZ everyone and love from ny to all of my hottie friends!
Kim and Donna i think you were able to taste a litlle, lol!
I did, and did and did some more, now I’m done in. To tired to type…………
Have a good night all.
KimBOB, that is so beautiful, how are our mutual friends in our other thread, you know who? After Gustav? I have checked and checked but you are closer to them?
Everyone came out of Gustav okay, only some minor damages to the garden. Many spent without electricity for nearly a week, food source was a difficult issue while there is no power, and the temp. was stiffling hot....
We continue to pray for them, Clemen. I spoke with my daughter who is working in Baltimore Maryland, she said yesterday they have got some heavy rain, but the sun has came back out today.
Ike is in Cuba....by Wed. or Thursday it will reach landfall nearby Texas Gulfcoast?
Oh My Kimbob, nice to hear our mutual friends are ok. We had the storm passing by yesterday,a lot of rain but nothing else, TG. So where is your daughter in MD, College? I went to College in DC, very close to College Park in MD. Have a good night if I am off the cpu!
Tht brugie pic so cute!
Hi Kimbob!! Thanks for the eye candy : ) Beautiful!
Well, girlies, I know it's on here somewhere, but I can't take the time to go through everything to find it! Are there any specifics on how to repot a brug?Do you loosed the soil around the roots, or leave it alone and just plop it, rootball and all, into new soil? Inquiring minds want to know!!
Audrey
Lily, what was the above pic? It's very pretty, and unusual, to me!
Come on we will have a ball!! I love your pipevine.. odd flower ; ) I did get one bloom on mines..smells faintly of lemons.
Wecome back Audrey!!!! Is your brug really rootbound???
Clemen you hottie, I LOVE paella. Maybe you can shoot the recipe to me and I can try it here. Lovely pics Kimbob that last pic set against the water is spectacular! Pipevines are very cool wish I could grow one here. Sandy so sorry your grandbaby is in pain, that is so horrible and she has it bad. I have seen that virus in a child before but not nearly that bad! Hope she improves very soon!
When I repot my brugs I just plop them in the new pot and soil and don't disturb the roots.
Good evening Sis's! Becky you hang in there with the camera.. you'll figure it out... Kimbob, love the pipevine.. I have 3 growing out there, I hope 1 is Gigantea. (you know I like the weird, er unique stuff) lol Really everyone's pics are gorgeous and Clemen so sorry your company didn't make it.. you can cook for us anytime.. I like that bouquet of zinnia's too! If my brood ever get married, I'll be one of those "little" MIL's, too. Drs say I'm under 5ft now... I shrunk.. the wrong way! lol Kinda of tiffed me at first, I used to be 5'1and1/2".. but it's okay, I've been short all my life. Sandy, did they give her anything for pain? A liquid to swallow or even a lotion of some kind? Just breaks my heart to have a child in pain like that.. I pray it passes her little body soon... Bless you and DH, one day at a time.. I wondered about sweet little Amiyah, today.. then didn't get back on the puter to see if there was a note from you...got busy in the basement (a good start) and then Drew left and I mowed the yard. We expect rain for a couple more days so now I won't be behind on that.. Audrey, Hi ya little hottie! Nice to see ya posting.. I don't think it really matters on ruffing up the roots.. but now that I think about it, I don't usually disturb them too much.. Hey, you are potting up! That means it's growing, Audrey.. Congrats. I bet its nice to be home playing in the dirt. Good evening to all you lurkers.. I see you've checked in a thousand times or so.. :) Okay, Cat and Louise, you talked me into trying some tuberose next year.. thanks for posting the batwing pic, that's another "dangerous" link.. lol Donna, you put in some long, hard hours the last couple days, Lady.. better take it easy for a few, if you can.. Hi Peggy we missed ya today..
I'm so long winded! lol Louise, you CAN have pipevines... just gotta keepem potted and haul them in and out.. want some cuttings?? I'm calling it a day, Hotties. Sleep tight!
sweet dreams to the early hotties. Bonnie can they grow in shade? I am looking for more stuff for the cursed tin shed spot.
Hey to all the Hotties!!
I have been MIA all day... busy lil gal today, and couldn't get off the phone all night! I have been lurking a lil here and a lil there...hehe
Clemie... I sure hope you saved me a lil and didn't give it all tto the neighbor!!..LOL
Audrey!!!! so glad you came home... I always ruffle up the roots on the sides and bottom before I repot any plant. That keeps the roots from running round and round.
All ya'll beautiful pics... I took some but they didn't come out too good.. one of a ditch DL came out pretty good... I can't believe I have a few still blooming!! They always bloom in March!! Here goes.. hope it's NOT a repeat of last night!!..lol
Ha Becky must be laying off the sauce...that pic is perfect! Becky that is the prettiest ditch lily I have ever seen!
