I have a Cool Blue in a pot of little bitty plants grown by leaf. I may have to keep that one!
September Blooms, Part 1
What a Beautiful picture! Cool Blue is perfect in that pretty little tea pot! I Love that little teapot with the violets painted on the sides. Really nice ... and perfect for that plant!
Wow I love your flowers in the tea pot.... So cute..
Lin, you sent me last year a cactus and I believe it is called Red Dragon? Anyway it is going to bloom... It has red buds on it... I am so excited...... Thank you very much... It is one of my plants I will never get rid of ^_^
Hugs,
Susan
LOL Susan ... not a cactus at all, even though it does resemble one. When I bought it years ago it was labeled Peanut Cactus and it does remind me of peanuts in the shell. Red Dragon Flower Huernia: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/61056/
It's one of my favorite plants that I have had for many years ... requires little to no care! Mine doesn't bloom often and when it does, I only seem to get one or two blooms here and there ... probably because I never feed it and it may need more light. But, it is a "different" looking plant and I've always liked it a lot. It looks great in a hanging basket but I've never put mine in one ... maybe next spring I will think to transplant it to a hanging basket ... they do look neat trailing down over the sides of a basket! So glad you like it and it's doing well for you. Post a picture for us, will ya?
Yes I will tomorrow as it is outside and we are getting allot of wind right now and rain.. Rain has stopped it seems for the min... we need the rain... I have I believe 3 bloom/buds ... I gave my sister a piece of this after you sent me last year and her's bloom for her.. .Little brat that she is...LOL
Thank you once again....
Susan
You are welcome! I didn't know until joining DG that this plant is in the same family as Hoya's!
I did not know that until this min. Lin LOL This lady is going to bed ...
Night All,
Susan
Very nice Syr, I'm guessing Party Boy?? One of my favorite fantasy's!
~Brenda
I am thinking Spin Art maybe? but Brenda knows allot more then me...LOL
Susan
I got it from Gail . . . I don't think she gave me a Spin Art . . . she was saving that one for someone else. About half the plants she gave me got spilled, so there was a tag or two missing . . . I had this one labled as Happy Time, but that's not it, I don't think . . .
Ok then kick spin art out the door...LOLOLOL Brenda knows here stuff so I would listen to her.
Hugs,
Susan
This is a picture of it still in it's carry tray when I brought it home . . . it did have the tag missing, and that is when Gail told me it was Happy Time . . . http://davesgarden.com/tools/mail/pmailpic.php?pid=1525623
Oh, that one is so pretty! Great job growing her!
I googled for images of Strep Happy Time and got this: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=images+of+streptocarpus+happy+time&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title
and ... scroll down this page and take a look at Happy Time: http://www.streptocarpus-info.com/tableh.html
Oh your chiritas are cute Lin... Wow those are also some nice AV's... Am I being to forward to ask for a leaf off that last you posted? Kukako.. If I am I am sorry.... Does not hurt to ask.
Hugs,
Susan
Beautiful AV blossoms, av_ocd_girl. Your Pink Sensation is ....well, Sensational. :D
Yukako is a chimera and only can be propagated from crowns. She is available from Lyndon Lyons for 25.00. I have on the DG marketplace for 10.00 where I will cut the crown out and all you do is plant the crown to have a pretty Yukako plant. She is listed on unrooted cuttings, Susan. When she gets a little bigger you can always start a plant with a sucker or a crown. I like to take only crowns and then let the mother grow another crown.
I have grown about 7 Yukakos since I got one from a former DGer.
I wouldn't be talking about DG Marketplace but Susan has already bought many things on there now.
I love everyone's pictures. Pretty african violets and always love chirita tamiana in bloom.
I forgot to tell Nichole that there are two Happy Times and yours is one of them. As she gets bigger she will have a lot of pink and purple together on the bloom.
I am editing this to say I am the very worst at keeping the right names on plants..........so you better not listen to me.........I do think is Happy Times because I have Party Boy and Surprise ,etc.........

Susan that's a great deal Gail has on that chimera of the Marketplace, go for it. LOL
Spin Art has yellow in the throat so I'm sticking with Bristol's Party Boy (or possibly Surprise Party) as my guess on Nichole's strep!! Party Boy has some magenta in it where as Surprise Part just has light pink .... as more blooms come on it will make it easier to identify!
Susan my Spin Art that you sent is looking really good, should start getting some bloom stalks soon!!
Lin Chirita Tamiana is one of my all time favorites of the gessies, so little and compact with lots of wow factor with it's multitudes of blooms. I have several of them (grew from seeds) lined up in a row and I just love 'em! The episcia to the right of your Tamiana is gorgeous and full in that vase, love it!
Av - Girl you have some really awesome violets there, just beautiful! As is the Av int he tea pot, a perfect pairing there.
~Brenda
Gail,
I have never done that before and I don't think I could do it and more then likely would kill it.. So I guess that one is a no no for me... LOL Brenda Thanks for telling me about Gail having it on the marketplace... I am getting to like that place.. :-)
Hugs,
Susan
Syru, what a pretty flower!
Lynn, I have that plant and it is so sweet, great picture.
Av girl, gorgeous violets!
Nancy absolutely fabulous!! You have gorgeous plants and blooms.
Just a little game I play with myself but I always try and pick a favorite from a group of pictures like this .... streps are my favorites of all time ..........but in this bunch that Rob's Miriwinni Trailer just does something for me. Small and delicate, looking out it's glass window, love it!
~Brenda
Thank you Brenda..I always do that too when someone posts a bunch of pics..lol..I just love looking at everyones pretties!
Nancy, lovely plants and flowers!
Good Grief Gail, you must be smokin' on The Marketplace if you have to pack assembly line style!! LOL
Someday I'll be doing that....
~Brenda
