Stop and visit, talk all you want. #25

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

The problem with the 49ers is the owner(s) won't put out any money for good players, so they buy cheap and losses is what they get. I was a 49er fan before Montana and I'll always be a 49er fan. What we've discovered is here we can't watch every game, they don't televise them. I guess that means I'll just have to watch the Saints and Cowboys battle it out.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

There is no better quarterback than Joe Montana. He's my fav and always will be.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

You all are talking football and I've never liked football (too many flags being thrown around), so whatever you're saying, know that my eyes have done glazed over☺☺☺

pepper, I'm with you on the taste of coffee, but I don't like the smell either. I've always heard it's an "acquired" taste. Same for beer and for wine. The only beer I've ever been able to drink, was a few yrs. back when my sister said hers tasted "awful". Well, if it tasted awful to her and beer tastes awful to me, then maybe that means it would taste good to me. Imagine the look on my husband and my sister faces, when I reached over and grabbed her beer bottle and took a swig..lol. It was actually quite drinkable! It didn't have that "alcohol-ish" taste to it, if that makes sense to anyone but me☺

Does anyone know why my monitor has this icon down on the right hand bottom corner, for ATI Catalyst Control Center? Something about or for the monitor that doesn't mean a thing to me? This thing was bought earlier this year, but my mouse and monitor both say "generic", instead of Gateway. Why? Anyone?

Glenview, IL

ROFLOLOL...heheh, thought we were talking Baseball!

Hope you are all doing well...Been good and busy on the job, which you know i just l love.

So just waving hi Ladies...

Steve home now so got to go and see whats up with him, lol he's counting minutes that i'm on.
Aww what can I say he wants me to visit him.

Have a good eveing all..

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Started out as baseball then went to football for a post or 2. I don't watch much football, zero baseball, some soccer and whatever I can catch in Equine sports which is next to nothing. lol

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Don't know what you're missing pep.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Yeah I do. lol. I never could get interested in baseball. I fall asleep watching it. In person and on TV. I'm not a big football fan either but I can watch it a few times a year- TV only. lol

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Can I hop in here? I just found this thread :)

Hi Celia!!

Pepper - DH & I aren't huge sports fans either. I enjoy going to games (when we go), but I don't miss it when we don't. Watching sports on tv is a major "yawn" for me LOL! I'd rather be outside in the garden.

Sharon

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Now pep, how can you fall asleep when I'd be screaming right beside you?? It isn't possible..just ask Krista! LOL

Welcome Sharon! I'm Terry☺

Glenview, IL

Good Morming, Good Morning...

Welcome Sharon, I am with you, I do enjoy going to a game every now and again.
Would rather be outside then watch sports.

Terry, LOL...I am however involved in the Cubbies, can't help but to get excited.
Plus Steve's excitement makes me want to come and watch whats going on. Then I also get caught up in the Fans, Just love to watch the magic and fun of People gathered having a good time and Cheering...You do know if We make it and win,
The City will have to shut down. I was routed for the White Sox when they won, i was happy just because they are Chicago too! But I did not go to parade, LOL took off and watched the festivites on tv...So i continue to watch and hope Cubbies go all the way, especially this year!

Crissy, Same for football, I don't really watch, because I never really understood the game. Steve has tried to teach me but nothing sticks, LOL to me it's bunch of big men beating up on eachother, for a ball...LOL, Today i heard they are going to stop selling Beer after 7th inning, I think it's a good idea, LOL I think they outa keep the fans off that wall too.

Now , I am a sissy...LOVE,LOVE Ice skating!!...So elegant. Will watch it on any channell any time.

Celia, Drink coffee all the time, I dunno, never got into flavored, maybe because dh and kids put stuff in theirs and the smell just too much....But I love herbal teas. 5:30 P.M. rolls in and it Miller time!!

Ok, speaking of Coffee, got to go get a cup!
enjoy the day all.

(Zone 7a)

Hey, Sharon!!! LOL Good to "see" you here!

Some baseball here. BUT only when it's a live, I'm there sort of thing. We have a local team I like to go see once or twice a year. No other sports, unless I catch a horserace. I can't even watch the rodeos anymore.

Mmm...coffee...got my morning cup in hand and am enjoying the morning. Unitl I have to work that is. :-)

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hi Sharon!! Christine here, Great you can join us!

Lol all of you are playing in the garden and I'm inside with the guys drinking a beer watching the games! I like baseball but I can't watch it on TV, it's just too slow for me. Huge Nascar fan here too, hockey and basketball are awseome in person!

I like coffee, both flavored and unflavored, herbal and regular teas, Coors Light, Jose Cuervo and 1800, Malibu, and many other spirits that I can't think of right now. Also, Merlot, Chardonnay, and a few others.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Hi Sharon!! :~)

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Hi everyone! Such a nice welcome from y’all : )

I enjoy a mean game of ice hockey and rugby. I know I live in Florida, but I lived in Europe for a while and took to rugby and ice hockey. I would watch the local teams play on the weekends there. There’s just something about the violence and the slamming of bodies Grrrrrrrr LOL! I'm a push over teddy bear in real life...

2 glasses of joe in the morning and I am ready to go. My adult beverages of choice are Chardonnay, a good margarita or an extra super dirty martini and a chocolate anything (esp martini). That’s about it! DH doesn't drink so I don't participate as much as it sounds.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I don't drink that often or much either. I barely catch a buzz when I do drink to drink, I think it's more for fruity or chocolaty flavor than anything. I love chocolate martinis!

Ice hockey is fun in person, I can't stand it on TV. Hey! How about Bowling or Billiards on TV??

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I love bowling in person, billards I don't watch on tv but very rarely will in person. Ice Hockey is fun, rugby not bad, curling is addictive-my dad and I learned that the hard way, and I love to watch swimming and wish I had my own pool. lol

No alcohol for me. :~)

Glenview, IL

Oh my gosh, I love Billiards!...LOL can't say i am very good but i just like the game.
Used to be on Bowling League many years ago...It is fun!...STRike!

Hocky, welll I do enjoy watching. Went to Hawks games long time ago and I guess you just get pumped with it.
I do enjoy watching Basketball.

Hi everyone!
Celia, hope you had a good night!

Had A crazy day...signing off.
Good night Ladies.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

I'm keeping my trap shut!! I'll be confused with a wet blanket~~~LOL

CUBS WIN!!! CUBS WIN!!!!☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺for every run they scored!!!

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

No billiards or bowling here. I like swimming and gymnastics, but they aren't shown a lot on tv. I'm the only female in this testoterone infested (LOL!) home so I don't get to watch much girly stuff.

Getting my first glass of joe, then off for a shower. Got my am workout done and am ready to hit the ground running.

Terry - Did they win? :)

(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone.

Everyone have a good day yesterday? I'm off today so I'm going to get some things done. I got some peonies in the mail yesterday. Five colors. Now to find a place for them all. ☺

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Celia - I meant to tell you that I love the start picture of Monty - he's so cute!

(Zone 7a)

Thanks, Sharon. He's my baby. The sweetest kitty ever.

Good morning, everyone.

Off to work soon. Such a pretty day to have to spend it inside. (sigh) Oh, well.

This crow was being escorted out of the area by starlings. I would rather have the crows than the starlings. Another "Oh, well."

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Morning girls. Didn't get on yesterday, except to get my e-mails and do a search for some snakes my sisters newest husband sons (getting that??☺) said he saw in my parents timber. Funny how John, my dad, my mom and myself, could all work out there for years and not come across a single snake. He goes in there and not only sees a ton of snakes, but kills them then too? Because he said, he hates snakes. IF there are snakes, did he know snakes eat mice? Hmmm.....

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Celia, from that picture, it doesn't look like Starlings. I see red on the birds there's a lot of. My first thought, was red winged blackbirds. Hard to tell though. I am by no means, good at bird ID. I'm trying to ID 2 new ones to our property. Not being able to find my good bird book, isn't helping me at all!

(Zone 7a)

Terry, they were starlings. We have a TON of them. Thye might look like they have red on them because of the way the light was hitting them.

Why would anyone want to kill snakes? They eat lots of pests. Same with bats. We have lots of those, too.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Every evening right at dusk the bats fly out of the trees and I can stand on my front porch steps and look straight up and see them flying in a tornado type form. It's way cool but my camera won't pick them up, even with the flash. Really neat to watch though.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Why? Did you read the guy doing the killing is my sisters latest husbands kid?? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree? He's an idiot?

I LOVE bats!! Crissy I do the same thing! Isn't it an awesome site to see??

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

It is! I've never lived in an area before where there were bats, I love them! I wish I could see them in the trees during the day though. I wonder what type of bats they are.

LOL Terry, great anology. I read it before but it didn't click for some reason.

Going to Shreveport this weekend! Woo Hoo!

Glenview, IL

Hello everyone,
Wishing you all a Happy Weekend.

Going to House in few...be back Sunday.

Enjoy the weather!
Watchout for mice, snakes and bats...

Crissy, have a good trip!

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Celia – My Callie is the same way. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She starts purring when you look at her! I don’t think we get starlings here.
Crissy – We have a bat house and get to see them sometimes. They really do help keep the skeeter population down. It is neat to watch them at dusk. Have a great weekend!
Terry – What guy? Did I miss something?
Seed - Have a great weekend too!

Snakes, lizards, frogs, etc don't bother me at all. I don't do creepy crawlies, spiders, roaches, etc...., they just gross me out!

I’m still at work. We have a great deal going. Every Friday at 4pm our boss open wine and we have a small “European” happy hour - 2 glass maximum. It’s nice, gives everyone a chance to sit together and chat about what happened during the week.

So “Cheers”! I’ll be back :)

Long day here. Had to hit the dreaded Wally World to get supplies for the RU tomorrow, load up tables and plants and other supplies when I got home, then dig out the cooler. lol. On top of that start working on the unemployment papers. Those people are n-o-s-y. (shrivels up nose) Now I have to wait for my dad to get home so we can load the grill into the truck. It's one of those big Brinkman barrel types with the smoker on the side.

But the good part is the weather is still nice here. LOL. And I also managed to stay out of the garden area at ww too. But not the clearance aisle. Never that section. LOL

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

LOL Clarence (Clearance) is my best bud!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Mine too!! I hate paying full price for anything unless I'm at a thrift store and the price is good.

(Zone 7a)

Never pay full price! LOL I hope...whomever was going to WW had fun, whomever had the snake-killer had words with them, whomever had bats (besides me ☺) gets them on camera sometime. I've tried and can't manage it, either.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

No bats here. LOL. Just bugs, racoons, opposums, and dogs and cats that don't know how to stay in their own yard. And dogs that kill other dogs. Those are next door to me.

Great pic!! I need to get my program reinstalled and take more pics to put on here.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Sharon, this guy? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=5601758 I don't think any area in the US is safe from having European Starlings, aka EUST. Yuck. Don't like 'em.

Sorry guys, I always seem to pay full price. For me, it's pure luck if they still have what I want, or in the size I need or the color I want, when it goes on clearance. I don't have the patience for digging thru all that. That applies to any and everything I buy. I waited once and only once, for something to go ON SALE, not clearance, and by golly, they were out by that time. I wanted one of those fireplace candle holder thingamabobs. So I look on e-bay (which I hate and I don't hate much), and by golly, somebody is selling one. Exactly from the place I had wanted mine from. But it was an auction, so I bid. First time I ever bid on anything. I lost the bid. Then I got an e-mail that the person who had won, wasn't responding or whatever, so it was mine if I wanted it. It ended up costing me more than it would have, if I only would have just gone ahead and bought it when I first saw it. It cost more because of the tax rate from TN, where it was coming from. They were charging me TN state sales tax, not IL state sales tax. grrrrr.....

Celia, if looks could kill, he have been uhhh...not alive on the ground, shall we say...lol. I asked who he was. He said his name was PJ. I had no clue who PJ was or why he was there, until I called my dad and he said what his name was, which included his last name. Then I remembered the son of that guy my sister is married to. I did say a LOT to my dad. PJ is too uhhh....dumb to understand or comprehend or or or...☻ Where my sister is concerned, I tend to keep my lips zipped until, well, the zipper comes undone☺☺☺ For now, I listen and I learn...shhhh...if you follow what I'm saying...shhhh....lol...

I have had bats in my belfry, errrr...my house. Our house...lol...I'm so selfish. Perhaps one early morning, I might have another flitting around and I can grab my camera Celia, just for you!! pepper, you're in the country! You've got bats girl! Look up in the night sky!!!

Bat houses, yea, bat houses!! I want one! I've bought my dad 2 of them. You'd think I could buy myself one, wouldn't you? I had bought him one years ago and it's full, so I got him another one for Christmas last year. Nice to see it, in the detached garage, sitting and waiting, sitting and waiting....just like the Bluebird house I bought him...sitting and waiting...sitting and waiting....
I love it when he complains about the bat guano on the side of the garage, on the vinyl siding! Horror of horrors!!! Everything perfect and neat, in it's place, perfect and nice...so my solution was to buy him another...ROFL

Judy, when you read this, I hope you having or had a great week-end at the House...wherever it is! LOL

(Zone 7a)

Terry's off and running at the mouth again! LOL We kid, girly, but we love ya!!! Silly boy doesn't know who he's come up against, does he? LOL

Sharon, you should post a pic of Callie so they know who you're talking about. She's such a lovely kitty. Still into her favorite Blue Days (or was it Blue Daze?), I'm sure.

I grabbed some cuttings from a restaurant parking lot. I thought they were one thing and turned out to be another. Photinia. 2 varieties.

Hi All!

Getting ready to go to work :P I have to make up time missed taking my step son to chemo treatments. Yeah, turns out my boss doesn't have much of a heart regarding illness. He's having a blood transfusion today (10 hours) and I have to work....

Moving on
Here is my Callie a/k/a Callikins, Calliesarus, Granny

She loves her Blue Days! If you look closely you can see how the flowers only grow to one side of the pot. That's because she sits in the pot with them LOL!
