Red Yucca Seeds....best way to germinate seeds from pods?

Joshua Tree, CA

I have my first seeds from the dried pods of our Red Yucca. Has anyone had success from planting them? Thanks, C

Sorry I cant help you as to how to treat the seeds to germinate them, I have only even managed to get new plants from suckers that sprout from the ground and then I remove them when they are large enough with a small root. someone else may come in and help you further, hope so. Good luck anyway. WeeNel.

I started some green ones from seeds this spring. The germination rate was very low. I got 4 plants out of 16 seeds. The seeds were purchased online. You might have better luck with your own.

I spaced the seeds about 2" apart in a very big container, covered them with 1/4" of soil, and kept them moist. The seeds took about 3 - 4 weeks to germinate. Then I potted them up in small pots. They look very happy now.
