Iris, thanks for the info on the 'Pat Austin'. It's nice to know what other's experiences are. It's pretty, but it's just so pale. Looking forward to next year :0)
The blue ROS are so pretty. I have a 'Violet Satin' that hasn't bloomed yet (it's about 18"). I'm sure of it's parentage because it's a sucker. Can't wait to see some color on it.
Donna, love your angel trumpet. I had one I babied for 3 years and finally gave up on it when I forgot to water it in the garage over the winter and it dried up. Never bloomed.
booj, I haven't noticed anything missing bunny-wise except one lily bud. I think the others were too tall for it. mostly I see it eating clover in the lawn (we have plenty)
Nothing new today so I'll share my Whopper tomatoes
Garden Photos - Part 34
Looking positively yummy, Jan!
Thanks Jan & Kathy, she was just a bitty baby in a 4” pot in June, now she is over 3’ and working on her first flush
Because of a back injury I can not work in my gardens this season so my Angles are really getting babied.
The maters look delicious, love them.
This is a Datura Ballerina white, another cutie in a pot.

So pretty, Jo Ann.
Is that garden in shade? And what are those pretty red blooms?
Lovely ! I don't drink but I'd love to sit with you on that deck!
come on down anytime.
I don't drink either but a cuppajoe wouldn't be half bad.
There have been gees early mornings the past few days, soon the sky will be full of them all the time.
They gather on a large pond south of here and then fly south.
Gorgeous
WOW Anita! Those are so pretty! I love the array of color....note to self, grow more zinnia's next year!
OMG Everybody the colors are great.Donna i will want some darker colors of Mandeville against the light house.
Alas the vine is annual here in the north.
Bev I also want zinneas next year,
Anita yours are beautiful.
Took some long shots of the shade garden, frost soon, don'r want to think of it.
shade looking south
JoAnn, that one was new this year and in a 4" pot when I got it in May. I will cut it back and overwinter this time. No more tossing them for me.
I only have my livingroom window for over wintering.
I have it filled with cactus and coleus favorites to take spring cuttings from, this winter.
I'll see about overwintering Mandeville vine next year if there aren't any other plants I want to keep.
Did you keep the vine in the pot in the ground?
Bill said to take a cutting and root it.
Then in the spring take more cuttings from the parent plant and root those to plant when weather permits.
This is the plan - I will let everyone know If I succeed.
I'll put the spring cuttings on packs of potting soil and transplant in May.
Hope the parent plants give me enough cuttings, my bill with Glasshouse and RoseyDawn will be big enough.
Your Black Knight picture with the baby Robin is just great Bev.
Jo Ann
JoAnn, is that peachy flower in the container a diascia? It is beautiful!!
Love your deck.
Donna, how did you overwitner your mandevilla? I got one at my local grocery store this spring. I couldn't resist it cuz it was red. Smaller flowers, but very abundant. It ended up over 7 ' tall. I would love to save it. Should I cut it back and if so, how much?
The zinnias have been gorgeous this year. Such vibrant colors. I think it's because it has been so dry here. The hummingbirds like them too.
Don't know the name of th peachy flower just taged "Flying Colors"
I won't put it in a container next year. Flowers shed a lot and stain the deck which is already a ghastly color(former owners didn't know my deck furn. was orange)
I am in love with all of these photos!
Jo Ann, thanks for the coleus advice. I remember now the little cutting that I overwintered last year. It is a couple of good-sized plants right now.
I'll have to remember to take cuttings from them to over winter.
Trying to catch up - wonderful shots! Allison is the coleus cutting queen so I would ask her for her secrets! I don't have good luck with it and lose more than half of them all the time.
That cactus looks a bit 'caught in a web'!
Like the little face in there, too.
When do you first put your cactus out in the season?
I had excellent luck with my coleus cuttings this year, Victor. I think I lost only one out of eight cuttings.
I am wondering just what everyone has still blooming in their gardens right now, today. I'll have to go outside and look and make a list so that I can share with you all later in the day.
May after frost.
This plant is over thirty years old and I'm affraid I missused it this year and put it in what I thought was a shade spot with lots of tubs in front of it, as the season and the sun changed it nearly burnt. I'll be sure to put it in shade next year.
Has a sister thet blooms in October with it.
