weegy,
You can't change your name, somebody already took that one! How about squeegy weegy? Makes you sound like you wash windows! LOL!
Did you say that she Quilts or that she Guilts? If she is good at making people feel guilty do you think I could have her come guilt out my kids? They keep forgetting to do their chores. Then I feel guilty that the critters didn't get dinner. I think I'm guilty too! LOL! Has guiltygirl joined DG yet? I tried looking her up the other day, but didn't find her. : (
Everything good out your way today? No fires? Talked to a firefighter from down in Temecula yesterday, he'd been moved up here to cover while our guys went to the fire in San Berdoo. Everyone keep your fingers crossed. No firestorms this year!
Got to turn off water! OOOPS!
Sending picture of my orchid blooming in green house that I took yesterday. SMILE!

I'm being silly today. IT is the silly season! LOL!
Taking a break. Hot today. Want to put my new bulbs in B.Fly garden before it gets too cold. So far behind on my garden. I got my Pride of Barbados planted in Dad's Memory. It's gonna be gorgeous!
So it's quiltygirl, who sews (not sows) to keep us warm. Cool.
I'll go say Hi.

.....A rose by any another name...still smellls...unless they come from a florist!! I am OLD! and can't see good. LOL Jo

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Yeah, what's my excuse?!?!?!?

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

weegy:
You mean that tiny little blue line under my info? So that's what it says! I thought you meant my other left! Thanks!
Yeah, must be something in the air today. Not much rhymes with wolf, but it was a valiant effort. My dogs just slobber all over you, pretty much only bark at coyotes.
Jo, I am loving the way my 4 O'Clocks smell in the late afternoon and evenings. So sweet. You are right those florists roses just don't smell at all.
Since when do you need an excuse weegy? Aren't you the instigator, no wait maybe that was interrogator. Okay, there is definitely something in the air today.
WIB,
SW

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Instigator, my middle name.
Yup, that teeny, tiny blue line under your name says "edit." LOL!

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

weegy,
Must be that heady 4 O'Clock perfume! You do mean the short blue line, right?
Just yanking your chain! : ) Now that you've pointed it out, all I have to do is take off my glasses and I can read it perfectly. Give me a holler, when you come to visit. I do have a Dr. appt on 28th in the a.m., but otherwise will be here.
WIB!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

I will SW!
I'm glad you took off your glasses and found the blue line! Now edit like crazy!

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

weegy,
Thanks for the info. Does that mean I write too much? I admit yesterday there was a lot of electricity in the air.
I was petting my cat, and she still hasn't forgiven me for sparking her. I didn't realize how much static electricity was in the air, honest. DH said that there was a class 1 twister (Dirt Devil) on the farm yesterday. He said it was a big one that sucked up a lot of dirt and air. He could feel it a good distance away. I'll have to show you. I've seen some big ones too. It has been calm up at the house and out at the p.patch. Go figure!

We've had little dirt devils come through here and it is a weird experience. Even with the small ones, you can feel the difference in the air - and they seem to pop up out of nowhere. Having experienced a couple of bigger ones back east, I'll take the little ones any day.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

weegy,
I've been shocking people all day. I wasn't even trying. LOL! A lot of static electricity in the air. I wonder if that is why I have so many electrical problems. Still calm around house and p. patch, but I can see it blowing the trees across the road. Weird is right. Hope it stays calm for the weekend. Really dusty here, it's hanging in the air. How about the rest of you?

Not complaining about the topic, but I wanted to ask what folks think about doing soup for the RU in March? I thought if I did one, and we could talk Weegie into doing her kale soup, and maybe one or two more from others, it would be a little bit of a change. I can make a couple of breads/breaksticks - you low carb folks can nibble - and then we can add a variety of cheese, salad, dessert. Sound good? Especially if the weather is cool, as is likely. I found some great compostable bowls at the store today.

Should I start another thread?

SW, I haven't noticed extra static the last week or so here, and I'm sparky in this house! Comes with the low humidity, I expect.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Put me down for Tortilla Soup....

Kathleen you can put me down for a desert. Now where is the best bakery in town ? :o)

Thanks, Marie!

Perris, CA(Zone 9a)

Can hardly wait. I just started some scabiosa columbariae (Butterfly Blue Pincushion Flowers) cuttings. There are nine of them. If they come out all right, I will bring them to the get-together.

Thanks,

Chuck

Of course I'm making my collard green soup and will bring some yummy bread to go with it.
Sorry we highjacked the thread Kathleen! Did you start another thread?

I just started one for food, Weegy - we can still use this one for chat.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Ok thanks!

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Say, did any of you get any rain today? I have to get a new rain gauge, but it was wet when I got up, and dark clouds are moving over us, headed north. It did wash the dirt off the Christmas trees too! I don't have to breathe dust! Smells great outside. DH says we may get another scattered shower. Wouldn't that be great!
On a more serious note. DH & I voted early this morn. Then went out for breakfast. I was surprised by how many others had the same idea. I saw a lot of stickers. The election is helping our local economy, at least for today.
More importantly to us DG'ers, have you checked out the photo contest entries yet? Wow! I guess I won't be hearing from anyone for a few days. So many great photos. It is hard to choose. Do look at the photos, it is real easy to choose, change your mind, and choose again. They don't count until the contest is over so if you change your mind tomorrow, well you can still change your choices around. Dave did a great job setting all this up. Bravo Dave!

Santee, CA(Zone 9a)

Hello Everyone!!

I'm still pretty new to Dave's and hear about all the fun some of my fellow Texan DG friends have at the round-ups out there, The every so lovely Kathleen told me about the one being held just a stone throws away from me here in Santee.

Oh, I'm so excited!! Gonna check the calender, what a perfect time to get together in sunny San Diego County. I look forward to being able to make it to my very first round-up!! yipeeeee

AND, I see weegy will be there too?? Oh wow, I have some lovely iris' fom Miss Weegy that are flourishing in my front flower beds as we speak ;o)

Is this an "adults only" type get-together or can kids come too? Our's will be 12 then, of course he would be more than happy to stay home by himself with his computer!!LOL!!

Thank you so much for directing me towards this thread Kathleen, I really am looking forward to this. Ya'll gotta hold my hand, since not only am I a social misfit, but I'm a super new gardener (I'm so new, I don't think one can even call me a actual gardener yet...hee hee)

~melissa :o)

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Yea, Melissa, can't wait to see you. I'm so glad the irises are doing well, I always worry.

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Melissa,

I don't recommend small children come, as our land is still a bit raw and there are hazards for little ones - especially the pond! But a 12 year old would survive. Of course, at that age, I would want to stay home, too! LOL

There is a food thread link in the first post of this thread. Let me know what you'd like to bring and I'll add it to the list.

Look forward to meeting you.

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Do you all know how many 'views' this thread has? Almost 600 as of today! Where are all these people? I wanna know who they are!

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

I'm here; yes we have never had children; they would be bored with our garden talk.

Crossville, TN

I'm part of the 600....I still check in to see who all is coming...even if I can't....Jo
