Hello! I have a small but happy patch of scotch moss that I'd like to transplant to another location in my yard. Is this an ok time of year to do that, or am I likely to kill it?

When it's a little cooler would be better. Also, it would be good if you put it in the same conditions it has now. Sun, shade, watering...etc. I did this to some of mine and it did just fine, although, I tranplanted in the spring.
