That is an arisaema. I got it at Dragonfly for one reason. See that seed pod on the left of the plant? That is what you hope for! I'll grow as many as I can from those seeds!

My uncle inherited the family house when my grandparents passed away. It had a seperate garage, with a grape arbor to one side of it. Now, my uncle was quite the hermit, collecting all sorts of stuff and stuffing the garage full of junk. The rest of the yard was allowed to more or less deteriorate into a chaotic mess. And that grape took right to it, It climbed right on up to the top of garage, making a vine tent just like you are building, Gordon.

But I suspect yours will be a bit more habitable, as the grape arbor in season was a buzz with bees when it was flowering, and when it was fruiting, as the fruit was very sweet, but a wine grape that was no good for eating.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Does anybody want tanacetum parthenium? It seeds happily and some people consider it a pest, but it's a great filler in the garden at this time of year when so many things are finished blooming. And the seedlings are easy to pull.

gordon, I want the Gunnera!!! JIm

Mountlake Terrace, WA(Zone 8a)

In my garden Feverfew was one of the first to bloom and the first to be cut back, like a month ago. What do you mean by the last to bloom?

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Mine just started blooming about a week ago and will bloom until the first frost. My SIL, who lives in Northgate has it blooming still . . .

Mine is still blooming, too, but I wonder if it's the seedlings from earlier this year that are blooming. I had blooms earlier in the season as well.

Gordon, I love that Crocosmia!

I have a bag of seeds from Thalictrum rochebruneanum. It's the prettiest Thalictrum I've seen. It blooms at the end of June.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Oh my gosh - how pretty is that? I got a little purple and yellow thalictrum (though I don't think it's that one) from Heidi after seeing it at Herons wood.

I tend to pull up the feverfew after it blooms. I might leave one of two mature plants, but for the most I like the new ones. My seedlings appear early in August and bloom at the end of the month. I had the double form from my SIL. And last weekend I collected the single form and chartreuse from the cracks in her sidewalk. :-)

Langley, WA(Zone 7b)

Sounds like fun. I will try and make it. I had something tentatively planned for the 20th so I will have to wait to see what pans out. Carole, maybe we can drive over together if it works out for both of us.

I don't have alot to contribute because my stuff is mostly so new, but I'm sure I can find a couple things and I will look for other non plant items to trade! I would love some of Pixy's phlox.

I love swaps, mostly to see what's out there and especially for the social part of it. I love your area too and I'd love to see/hear more of your nursery plans.

Gwen

I bought Thalictrum 'Hewitt's double' after seeing it at Heronswood, but it has disappeared. I have 'Illuminator' as well, but I didn't save any seeds from that one. I'll bring seeds to the swap. They are easy to germinate so there are plenty.

Gwen, I'll put you down for some of the phlox.

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

NWGordon, your name is on a bunch of echium seeds. You are welcome to visit sometime, just send me a note to arrange. Saturdays through the school year are usually best for me, and that is also when the nursery across the street (Colvos Creek) is open if you happened to want to visit there as well.

Pixy, I would love some seeds of Thalictrum rochebruneanum, but I won't be able to make it to the swap. Are they small enough to send easily through the mail? I'll send postage, or if you'd like some of the echium seeds, I could send you those.

Snohomish, WA

Well, if pixy brings the seeds, i'll ferry them over to you. Ooooh! A new nursery! I'm down with that, and saturdays are best for me too. Just dmail me your addy and I'll see what else I can bring.
All the shata daisies are going! They look good, but I have had them for years, and there is other plants to go where they are!

And 'Illuminator'

Poulsbo, WA

I'll try to make it, too. I doubt I have anything interesting that everyone else doesn't already have, but I do have seeds from the blue woodland poppy as well as lots of Japanese Maples. Mostly it would just be fun to get away and see everyone again.

Thumbnail by neofarmer
Marysville, WA(Zone 8a)

Neofarmer I'd sure be interested in those blue poppy seeds. Here's a link to my trade list: with lots of seeds: http://members.gardenweb.com/members/exch/grrrnthumb

Mauryhillfarm I'd also sure like any echium seeds if you have any left.

AnalogDog I will bring you some Epi cuttings.

Everyone else feel free to peruse that list and let me know if you see anything there(don't have 100% of those, it does need some updating).

- Tom

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

I just might be in luck to go, (but still have car issues) one I'm driving right now is not much bigger than a bread box LOL.
I lucked out working 10 days straight I get Fri & Sat off. is what the Sch.

Tills

Do hope you can come, Tills! If you are driving a small car, you'll just need a roof rack!

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

Neo, That's a beautiful Meconopsis. Does it grow well for you? I've tried for years to get them to grow but it is only the ones I buy at the nursery, and that's only for the first year, that I can enjoy.

Edited to note: Tom, I have two varieties of hardy fig for cuttings if you are interested.

Yes, I'd love fig cuttings. Maybe some tips on getting them going too. :^)

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

I found air-layering to be the most dependable way

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

Tom, I have many Echium seeds. I have never planted them myself (first year raising a plant to flower) so am unable to send instructions for successful germination, but I have read they are not hard to grow. I'll mail you some if you d-mail me your address.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Are Sheri & Tim coming? I have Phygelius 'Winchester Fanfare' for her & if anyone else wants some, I'll bring more. These are rooted cuttings with top growth.
Also - I have a Brug (white) in a pot, grown from seed, about 18" tall, and no GH to store it over winter.
Nigella seeds, and whatever else I can get seed from this week.

Angelica gigas - the Bald-faced Hornets love this!

Thanks Pic's, Can always stick them out the sun roof, Ha Ha if it all comes together I will borrow Lit. Bros. Wagon, not as big as mine old one but better than the bread box. LOL
At last count I have ( will do better next year) I hope.

Starts off my Weeping Pussy willow ( that may need training when young) Have taken root.

Red and white Columbine and another can't recall the color.

And some Old Fashion purple Irises

Off the top of head for now, have others.

Hope this works, so want to see all, and Gordon's garden ^_^

I have these seeds fresh from the garden:

Lobelia tupa (smaller than a grain of sugar, and not many of them. I'll search the plant for more ripe pods before I come)
Digitalis parviflora

Port Orchard, WA(Zone 8a)

Mary, is there anyone on this side of the pond, I could hitch a ride with. I'd really want to go. there's some stuff that my Pulmonary Dr. is given me. that I don't want to drive by myself. I have some really nice plant material. that I want to donate. and maybe do a Little trading, Jim

Snohomish, WA

I wish I had time to come get you, but a bit busy at the moment trying to make the place look good.Maybe tilly can swing by and get you.
I have left many seed pods to some very cool plants out here. Jim gets one gunnera for sure, but might have one or two more babies to divide and trade.

Tills, I have some wooly thyme that I could get you some cuttings of as well... sorry, I didn't read through the entire thread (I am supposed to be working ;) ), do you have a rep going to the swap that I can give them to? I would guess that they would take root pretty well, but I haven't tried... I mean, they are forming a nice mat under my roses, so I am guessing they are layering under there! :)

Does anyone have an extra star jasmine cutting or something like that? I am not sure how to propogate it, and I am sure that no one would want to part with that beautiful plant, but I thought I would give it a try... I bought a plant in a gallon pot at the beginning of the summer and it just completely pooped out right away... even my gardenia is still alive at the end of the summer, but I couldn't save the star jasmine.

I don't have anything super neat or unusual, but I have sweet pea seeds, some herb seedlings that have reseeded themselves (I think mostly borage, some nasturtium seeds), lady's mantle, probably some hardy geranium seeds but not sure which type... and probably some fresh veggies by that time... my veggie garden is FINALLY producing! Even got a nice green pepper! I should have taken a picture. Oh, I have a honeysuckle cutting that is taking root in water now, but again not sure which type, so if anyone is interested in seeing what develops there (in a pot!). I also have some yucca plants if anyone is interested... not sure what type, I will try to find a picture of it in bloom. Have some Alyssum saxatile, Centaurea montana, some raspberry starts (not sure what kind), and I could have some peony seeds if I can figure out which part is the seed... lol Well, I will just bring the whole darn hip (?).

Neo, was it you I got the japanese maple from at the swap in Newcastle? It is doing GREAT, if you look at my post earlier in this thread there is a picture, I love it! I would be up for one more if that is available! :) Do you have any lace leaf by chance? Have not tried that type, but I'm not sure how easy it is for you to propogate. I am learning, but I just don't know much yet still.

I also have a mountain laurel that is doing really poorly, it is on the brink of death, and I am not sure it will make it, so perhaps if anyone wants to try to revive it... not sure what I did wrong. I purchased it at Sunnyside Nursery a couple months ago, it is in morning sun, has good drainage and I have been watering. Actually now that I look at it again I am pretty sure it is gone. :(

Mountlake Terrace, WA(Zone 8a)

Jim and Tilly, If you all want to catch the ferry from Kingston to Edmonds, I can pick you all up at the terminal, and take you to Gordon's.

Just harvested my Crocosima 'Lucifer' seeds for the swap and I will have a bunch. I am also going to go over this list and find the requests so I can have them ready for next weekend.

You all have fun now, you hear?

Everett, WA(Zone 7b)

Rob, I would love to grab some of those Crocosmia seeds, if there are some still available! :) Thanks!

Stacy

Poulsbo, WA

I can pick you up Tilly, and anyone else on the west side of puget sound that needs a ride. I just carried some bales of hay in it, so I will have to clean it out. Hopefully there will be room for 3 to 4 people and plants!

Snohomish, WA

Stacy, you can have all the jasmine cuttings you want. With tha vine cave I have many(lost count) different vines, and I have lost more than one this year! Vines are wierd!

Mountlake Terrace, WA(Zone 8a)

Don't sweat the availablity of Crocosima seeds. I have about an ounce or two. And I will bring plenty of baggies for all to have.

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

Hey I'm lazy. I don't want to read all of this. What dates did you decide on. I'm here this weekend and would hope that was it.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Hee hee. You crack me up. Straight to the chase. The swap is NEXT weekend about 5 mins north of Woodinville on Hwy 9. Will you be here then?

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Dang it, Steve. So close - you'll just miss us. And we will miss you.

BTW - how is that grandbaby?

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Bring your cameras. And we need to be sure to get a group picture. How about if we try to target noon for getting a photo? That'd be fun.

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

My Charlieze is a wonderful grandchild that I get to spend another couple of days on Sunday. I would have loved to spend some time with you guys. Hey Kathy what are you doing Monday night? How about a get together somewhere. Anyone else is welcome. I have monday eve off. Dmail me.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)
