We had a hawk...not sure which one, pass through one day last week. Do believe it may have gotten a dove.

Nice pics guys! Love the quail adel.
Thanks Pelle and nanny for your encouraging comments. I'm so happy with the new lens (es). Yep went and impulsively bought a 300mm yesterday. There's a story behind it which justifies the purchase, (to me anyway).
This is a shot of a Black Swan cygnet on the Swan River today. It was looking up at a jet flying over.
Lots of great pics!
Margaret, I love the expression on the cygnet's face in the second pic! So cute, the young Blue Tits did the same with planes going above, must think they are large brids, lol. Lucky you getting a 300mm, useful for bird pics.
This young Wood Pigeon was sunning in the Acacia a couple of days ago, and whoopee the sun is shining again in patches today!
Oooo, there's that cute quail from adel!! hey...that rhymes!! :)
Margaret...any reason to get a new Lens is justified to us!! lol
That cygnet is adorable!
Wish us luck!
When I was letting the dogs out this morning, I noticed some odd bird behavior. A Black-headed Grosbeak was able to fly only very short distances barely off the ground and flopped belly-up each time it landed. It was being harrassed/attacked by a Scrub Jay. I couldn't just let nature take it's course and watch it be murdered, so I set about to rescue. Bird is now in a small dog kennel, and quite fiesty. I've spoken to a bird rehab person, and she said there's likely a head injury that might take a few days to right itself, but since bird can use it's feet full recovery is likely, though it might take a few days.
Ill try to get some pictures later in the day.
Wish you the best of luck!!
Wonderful pics Margaret! That cygnet is precious! The Blue Billed Duck is
such a handsome guy can't imagine why a female hasn't come to call.
Love the Wood Pigeon wallaby!
Good Luck tiger! Can't wait to see the pics.
It's grey and misting here, (we need rain very badly, so that's a good thing!) so it's not a good day for photos. Even up close I could not get the catchlight in the eyes.
The Black-headed Grosbeak seems to be doing okay. I gave it BOSS and picked a few blackberries. It ate berries unassisted as I was holding it, which I take as a good sign. It is more able to stay upright now, but still needs some time.
The rehab gal told me that these birds have a very good recovery rate, so things are looking good.
I think it's a young bird, as there's still some spots or stripes on the outer part of the breast.
Nice one tiger! Keep us posted.
