(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

BJ, you need to watch those Mimosa's. before you know it, they will re seed themselves all over the place, whether you want them or not!!!
They are so pretty, and smell nice, but very invasive.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, I know... I pull them up with the weeds already... just let one grow last year, because it just came up in the right place where I wanted a little tree. But, with or without me growing one on my property, they come up everywhere anyway.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

bj I have a two-toned purple Althea tree as well, so I'll bring a bucket full of cuttings for you :)

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

OOOO>>> thanks Karen.
I'll have a HUGE bed ready to stick them in...

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

BJ, I have a very nice size rooted dbl pink althea. I'll mark it for you.
Charlene

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

BJ, I don't know if the Althea I have is the one you want. I am sending a pic. LMKP.

If anyone has the old fashioned plain old purple single Althea, I would love a rooted one.
Charlene

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

OMG... that's beautiful too... I would surely like that one.
the one I'm talking about though has a very pale pink, almost white bloom...

Like I said... I do like altheas... so, I'll really take any color...
I just really fell in love with those pale pink blooms.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

bj mine is the extremely pale pink, almost white....

Charlene did I give you some cuttings at the last RU? Can't remember....If you want I'll bring you a bucket too of the purple Althea, but I can't root them. Let me know

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Karen, I didn't have any luck with the cuttings. They got dried out going home and didn't revive for me. I will have a bucket of water for cuttings this time. I would love some cuttings of the pale pink and of the single purple please. My DH has been wanting the single purple forever, and so far, I haven't gotten it for him, so that will be great.

BJ, I'll save you the dbl pink Althea that is the darker version.

Thank you,
Charlene

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

BJ, I can bring you some cuttings of dbl lavendar if you want them. LMK if you want them.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

DD, I put your name on Song of Solomon and Spacecoast Extreme Fashion as well as a variety that fall in the pink to lavender range.

Karen, please bring me a few cuttings of your pale pink althea too. I think you already have me down for the double purple.

Charlene, just in case your double lavender althea is different from Karen's, would you bring me a few cuttings too?

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Patricia, I got you covered.
Charlene

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Bj I had to just skim over and hurry and post, i have silk tree, redbud tree, asp or ash tree, and I have the rose of sharon that is med to deep pink color(them I have about 13) Send me a dmail and let me know.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks Tia... I have silk trees growing wild (Mimosa is the same thing)... I could use a few Redbuds though... I thought Ash Trees got big?... will look that one up and let you know... Rose of Sharon is same as Althea, I think... but I will take a couple of your deep pink ones too... Thank you soooooo much. (((((( hugs ))))))

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

you very welcome, the ones I have either ash or asp only get about 8-10 feet tall. I really didnt read what you were wanting them for just seen. The redbud i have to dig up for you is electrified right now, let me explain, we tried to pull it up this summer and got a jolt. It is next to the garage and right under an electric outlet for the 5th wheel. Gotta turn the power off to get it out, i think I will get SIL to do that this week when it is not raining. I have another one that is going to WA to Trisha along with a silk tree (I call them that here easier to spell) Mimosa wow I can spell it. Ok got ya down for a couple. Do you know they grow from a cutting also, hubby clipped one with the weedeater and I just yanked it up looking all mad at him and stuck it in the dirt. Doing great.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

well gee I have seeds from the mimosa's out back if anyone wants any LOL...didn't think to post that as they go so freely around here

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I haven't had a lot of luck rooting anything from cuttings... I've tried some althea cuttings from my son's house, and got 2 out of 10 to actually root, then they died when I transplanted them... I'm not a very talented gardener... ya know...

OH, PULLEEEAAASSSEEEE.... don't dig that tree by the power line... sheesh... Don't want anyone to loose their life over getting me a tree... For heaven's sake... leave it alone.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh gosh yea me also, I have TONS and TONS of seeds. I am going to go collect some this week and spread them out by the back fence. hubby wont mow there. he will never know, well he will but it will be to late then.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

I was thinking maybe she would show up wtih super curly hair LOL

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

ROFLMAO there is no place mine wont mow unless I have it staked off

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

LOL hunny it has to be dup up it is only maybe a 1/4 inch around not real big. We WILL turn off the power 1st. That will make that plug dead and we can get it out. It has to come out we just havnt done it yet. I promise I wont kill anyone digging it up. Its about 1 1/2 foot tall now.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Heck no not me, i wont be doing it, i am a very good deligator

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

good girl there LOL,,,make that man earn his keep ROFL

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Alright then... but please be careful.

I too have Mimosa's running out my ears... but, I'm not planting seeds... I'm pulling them up with the weeds... they're everywhere !!!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I love them. I want to sneak some down by the pond but hubby will pull them up right along with them cat tails things. HE HATES them. No I dont have any to collect except maybe at moms, but I aint going into her nasty green pond. The ones we have here are to small and again hubby pulls them as soon as he sees them.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

cattails???? y'all pull em out???? any lately????? I'm looking for a few to pot up and put in my pond LOL

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I will see what I can find at moms, hers are over 20 years old. Let me see If I have some small ones here at my pond. I can pot them up for you. It is pouring down raining right now. You do know they are very very invasive and can kill your pond That is what happened to Moms pond she planted a few and now it is a mess.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

that is why I thought potting them up would control them

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

ok I see I will check once the rain has stopped.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

thank ya much

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

OH, TIA... I would love to have a few Cat Tails too... I'll keep them contained too so they won't get evasive... but they'd look so good next to my pampas grass... I'm so feeling your love right now... please say yes.. !!!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Ok I f i can get some I sure will, who would have know.

Gilmer, TX(Zone 8a)

Karen could I have some althea cuttings. Just a couple is fine if you have them.
Got you down for celosia. Phyl.
Got about a million.

If anyone has lambs ear or pineapple sage, please bring me some. I would tell you that I'd bring my first born if you have some and will bring them, but instead I'll bring you 3 year old twins if you don't!! Besides, my first born is 40, might be hard to corral him.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

gotcha down for the Althea Lorraine...sorry, I only have one Pineapple Sage and I bought it on clearance to give to Pam..........

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Lorraine drop the cleome seeds for me ...silly me still learning the technical names I have those but call them spider plants...is what granny always called them

I updated my list of haves so anyone giving me something please check and see if there is anything you would like

pat I do have sassafras potted up so I'm hoping they take off yet...they don't like being dug up but since they are parts of the main root they should come back with new growth so I'll still bring them for you...just letting you know they may not look nice
