noid rose bud, I got this from my neighbor he thought it was dead. I had it in a bucket for a month before I was able to get around to planting it. I cut it all the way back before I got it in the ground about 2/3 wks ago. I am so pleased!!!

I've been away for a couple of days and WOW!...when I returned, there were so many gorgeous blooms to see.

Deb - I really loved the shots of your gardens....sooooo pretty! Hope you are feeling great soon!

Victor - I like the colors of the lavender and oranges and lemons together!

Great dahlias, Allison!

Bill - those knockouts are so abundant! What do you use for fertilizer for them? I have a new one this year and hope it puts on a show like that for me next year!

Celeste - I love those new MGs! Very different! Do they come true from seed?

WOW!
Louise, Your 6'2" hubby is DWARFED by those babies!
I love it!

Nancy

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Okay - nice try, Louise. Good PhotoShop shrink of Hank in those 3 foot flowers!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

That's right, Nancy!! Cool, huh?

And Victor - I double-dog swear that this pic is legit!! Hank is not even bending his knees!!! These babies are really tall this year. They are the "Giant" variety that get 10 feet tall. Here's another shot of Hank extending a golf club to reach the tops, and the flowers had just opened when this was taken. Cool, huh?

Very cool Louise!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Kind of a strange trap, isn't it?! Did he get the ball out?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

aren't those cool Louise... I am jealous ... my 4 foot tall ones... had the heads snapped off two days ago

:(

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

ge I like your stone paths. Looks like a nice shade garden.

Like the turkey and hawk pics, ngam. I rarely see turkeys in my yard, but I've seen them around here many times. There are hawks who come here a lot. I like them. Oh, and your 'Molinuex' rose looks luscious!

Nice pics, Victor. I love the combo of lavender and 'Oranges And Lemons'. I wanted a Castor Bean this year, but I never got one. Next year for sure.

Onewish, how'd the heads get snapped off your sunflowers? Was it squirrels? I had that happen to some giant sunflowers that grew voluntarily here a few years ago. Haven't grown any since then.

Karen

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

my guess was the deer... looks like big chomp marks ... but I guess it could be a ton of little ones making it look like a big one

:)

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

what variety of sunflowers are those Donniebrooke? Those are huge!!
Excellent photos everyone. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up and look through them all tomorrow!!

I just happened to catch an "aerial" photo of sorts of where I live. However good or bad it is, I took it a quite a distance. I wasn't really trying to get a picture of my place by any means. look for the pinkish circle.

OOOOOOH RC That is one beautiful landscape.
Love how the tips of the trees in forground turn ocer.
Keep the good stuff comming.

Beautiful photo of the mountains (hills?). I love the colors. It must be wonderful to live around such beauty.

I'd vote for this if you decided to enter it in the photo contest.

Whoa, missed a day or two and there's so much to see. I just love it when you guys post pics of your gardens. Nice to see where the beautiful closeups come from. So I tried for one of mine. This is my Fairy Garden. I've planted some low growing perennials that I started from seed to fill in the front bare spots. Should look better next year. (that's my neighbor's house)

RC, that is one gorgeous photo! would make a great subject for a watercolor.

Louise, very cool sunflowers. I didn't plant any this year and I miss them. But mine wouldn't have been 10' tall, that's for sure.

All this discussion of the Plantigenea hostas...I need some, very badly. on my list!

thanks again :0) I never got my 4 o'clocks planted, and they're supposed to help with the Jap. beetles.

here's a closeup of the Marguerite. I wasn't familiar with them before someone sent me seeds. I really like the ferny foliage and the blossoms are cute. Besides, my Mom's favorite cousin and best friend was named Marguerite, so I had to try them.
