I'd love to know what this plant is (the one in back on the tall green stalks). The photo is from my Mom's yard, but she doesn't know what it is either. It's a perennial in Chicago area. It is about 3 or 4 feet tall. Thanks for any ideas.

It looks like a native plant called Baptisia or False Indigo. There are pictures in the plant files:

Here's a picture of mine, but my plant gets purple flowers. I believe it's a hybrid I bought at a nursery. It's about 3.5' tall.

One of my favorite plants this growing season ... the blue false indigo... awesome ... healthy and becomes a huge bush like plant if happy!
