Another Hibiscus. Sorry I don't know the names of all the flowers I am posting. I will learn what they are once I learn to grow them! (Is that backwards ;O))

Some kind of ginger I think. Does anyone know what kind? The leaves are so pretty, the flowers are just a bonus.

Last one.

I started a batch of EM 1 today. Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to use it once it is "cooked"? I want to use it to inhance my soil which has a lot of hard clay in it.

Nice posies! I love the begonia ~ did you plant it there?
And am green with envy on the Meyer lemon... how cool!
Your "another Hibiscus" is commonly known as Texas Star or Hibiscus coccineus seeing as it looks like you know how to grow it! LOL Very nice!

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks podster. Yes I did plant the begonia there.

This one is just starting to bloom....got going late. It's a purple batface cuphea...cute little "face".

My Hummingbird Sage is really putting on a show. I planted these from seeds late in the spring and am tickled they decided to bloom. They're all supposed to be light pink, but as you know, there's one in every crowd... LOL

My Four Nerve Daisy is also showing it's beauty again.

The Pigeon Berry in our front yard has really taken off this year! I found some growing out by our compost pile the other day, too. Wonder where it came from???

Here's some showing the berries.

This volunteer Cinnamon Basil has found a nice home in one of the daylilies that arrived too late to be planted this spring.

The Oxblood Lilies I planted earlier this summer are blooming. They're not as tall as they should be (not sure why), but they're blooming anyway!

Does anyone know what this little vine is? It has small dainty leaves and pink flowers. It is very prolific and I don't know if it is a weed or something the previous home owner planted. It tries to take over my flower beds.

Here is a close up of the flower.

Josephine.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

It is also a host plant for two of our TX butterflies!
Southern Cloudywing (Thorybes bathyllus)
Zarucco Duskywing (Erynnis zarucco)

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks Josephine. It is very pretty but is very invasive and intertwines with other plants in the bed.

NE Medina Co., TX(Zone 8a)

Mmmm, love those colors! Mexican Sunflower, a treat to the eye and loved by butterflies!

Such pretty blooms! My red firespike is just now putting on bloom spikes. A couple broke off from IKE so am glad to see what it will look like. I also got some meager blooms from the Spanish flag so I can say I have see that one. I still love your back yard photos.

Gloxinia Chic ~ some of the leaves got nipped from the fire but it hasn't stopped the blooms.

The leaves of the Osmanthus fragrans got toasted too but it seemed to trigger a bloom cycle. The delightful smell found me before I found the blooms.
