where can i get some sticky corns kernels?

Beverly Hills, CA

The corns that they sell in the supermarkets are watery. i have tried some corns imported from thailand, viet nam, they are all sticky like sticky rice.

i wonder if there are any sites that sell those? so I can gorw them myself.

I have no idea, but maybe the best place to look would be at a Chinese food supplier etc, they will be able to tell you the type of corn that is imported, what a good question, just wish I could help you more, someone else who grows corn will maybe come in and help you out. Good luck. WeeNel.

has anyone ever tried those sticky corns? they taste better than those corns with a lot of water in them.

Sorry but no, I am not an expert on corn other that the type we grow here and I have to say, I never find them to be very watery at all, in fact they are one of my grand kids favourite veg or even snack, there are so many different types of corn you can grow in your garden that maybe you have not tried many yourself, remember most veg, fruit etc that is sold in supermarkets are not grown so much for flavour, but for colour, looks and shape/size, then it has to withstand shipments, handling and storage before you even see it on the shelf, hence the reason home grown crops always taste better than shop bought ones, so I hope someone who grows corn in your neck of the woods can come in and tell you the best flavoured ones for your needs. good luck. I'm with WeeNel--have you tried growing your own sweet corn or getting fresh sweet corn from the farmers markets? The flavor of the stuff raised on the huge farms with tons of chemicals (which is mostly what you'll find at the grocery store) just doesn't compare. Otherwise like WeeNel said, go talk to the people at the Asian grocery or wherever it was you got the corn and ask them for the name of it, once you have that people will have a lot easier time helping you find it. Or you might try posting in the Beginner Vegetable forum, you might have better luck over there.
