Help decide on " DG Friendship Garden " Signage

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Betty---are you saying you are "slipping"???????? Having "Senior Moments"?

NAH!!! NEVER!!!! Your thoughts are just "scattered" all over--like the seeds of all the flowers you grow! Where they will land--who knows? What will become of them? Who knows! But--no matter where "they" land--they will always grow and flourish.

Your thoughts are on TWO posts--yet you just cannot break from this one! Love it!
Just "spread the goodies" all over!......

Gita

The windows look great Betty, not too big, just right for balance. You have really made it something nice.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, those windows are so gorgeous! Some day i will take the time, and take some lessons. Maybe a wreath painted on the doors?
Just a thought.
Good night everyone.

Some great ideas I have to tell you...

Got the lettering painted, although the outside frame looks as though it's painted black, the trim is same color as the windows...

Tonight I'll do a few geraniums and leaves and it will be ready to put up...

Your kindness has kept me going..tired last night, but managed to paint! lol

Before you know it, we'll have accomplished this little garden together...

That is just cute as a button Betty! I am so glad I peeked in here when I saw this post at the begginning!

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Lovely Lovely!
Do you do that lettering freehand?
It is so neat..

Lawrenceville, GA(Zone 7b)

Everything is just beautiful Betty! I love your window box planters and the windows are awesome too. You were born with a paintbrush in your hand!! I can't wait to see what you come up with next :)

Wow! Betty, What an AMAZING talent, you are so creative! Your Friendship Garden is perfect!

Great job ... really, really lovely!

you guys sure are giving me an 'ego' lol
as well as ideas/ideas/ideas...

thought about the wreath, years ago I did one with Genesis (heat set oils) and gave it away for a gift, must have kept the pattern, will go on the lookout, then I could just drill a hole in the door support and hang it..thought about grapevine wreath with ivy/flowers but because the area gets so much sunshine think they would fade too quickly...

then I'm thinking about the garden overalls, would I possibly do it on the side???

Keep this up and friends/family will put me away..this garden of friendship? told them about the signage and they look at me as though I've lost a marble or too...lol...most likely some of you do as well but are too kind to say so...lol...

(Zone 1)

Betty, Oh my goodness ... I don't think you've lost your marbles at all! If only I had an ounce of talent, I can just imagine what my house would look like. I have a humongous shed in my backyard that our covered wood deck is attached to and it's all screened in with the pool enclosure. I have always wanted a mural painted on the side wall of that shed that's inside the screened area! Since I can't paint (even have trouble with stencils, LOL) I have just hung "stuff" all over that side of the shed! About six years ago I picked up a mirror that my neighbors had out for the trash when they were moving, took off the hardware (it was a dresser mirror), painted the frame green and hung it on the side of the shed. I collect birdhouses so I have a shelf full sitting there also. I hung other "decorations" on the side of the shed as well. Kinda cluttered but it sure hides the dirty shed! I need to think of something to do with the ugly, dirty little window!

My camera is flashing that the batteries are dying but I managed to take this blurry picture

East Central Florida, better let me know where in Florida, just might have to spend a few days doing mural..lol...I love what you've done...you do have some painted items....

(Zone 1)

LOL, the painted shovel came from a catalog a few years ago ... real cheap! I have a little sign that I got in a round robin box last year. It was made by a dg'er and I love it.

Oh lordy was she from California? Recently widowed, should know her name, she sent me one as well in a swap if it was the same lady..I'll have to go back to some old threads...

Mine says: Next time I buy a kitchen it will have vending machines....

lol - she knew I no interest in cooking...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just came to mind, was it Betterbloom?

(Zone 1)

Yes ... it was Betterbloom!

She is the sweetest lady. I did a trade with her a year or so ago and all I sent her was some bulbs and look at this hand painted cement sign she sent me! I sent her a check to cover postage because it weighed so much and she returned my check!

This isn't the greatest picture but you can see my beautiful sign from Betterbloom.

She is a treasure..I'll have to d-mail and see what she's been up to...small world, we each have her treasures...lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

a bit on the primitive side but isn't that what this Friendship garden is all about...

Forgot to add the photo's...yet another 10 to cut once I've attached these to the 4x4

Betty those signs are very nice indeed.
So far in distance from one another, but DG brings us all close together!
Linda Kay

(Zone 1)

That is Beautiful ... can't wait to see your finished sign when it's all assembled! Betty, you are a true artist!

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Just beautiful--Betty!!!! You did such a great job on painting the flowers!

Now--about the KEYS???????

Are we--or are we NOT--sending you some kind of keys to "symbolically" represent that you are welcome in our homes any time you wish????????

When I first proposed this--only ONE person thought it was a great idea. Or--at least--only ONE person commented on it......

May we have another VOTE on this topic---please! Or--is it, as you wish.....Some will....some won't....some may not have any extra keys to send......

Gita

I 2nd the vote.

I'd accept keys from anyone with great pride, thanks Gita...

1st coat of paint on those old chairs, cooking supper..rather be painting though..Noah is spending the night with grandma..well kind of, he's downstairs on the couch and grandma is either upstairs or in the craft room, but we are in same house...so that must count..lol

Hoping to get chairs/table painted one more coat and then I'll stencil with brighter colors - checkerboard on the corners...as they are old and in disrepair I'll not spend a lot of time, so, painted them with the birdfeeder colors, blue/yellow..will leave the green-make them multicolor..

Well Gita, your sign is up looking pretty...

I 'm kind of buttin' in here..but I think the key idea was a good myself. :)

There is never 'no butting' in, everyone is invited in my friendship garden..will look for a 'body' to help me hold the sign while screwing it onto the shed..lol

Sunshine day so am waiting for all my company to get up, give them breakfast and then it's play time..maybe my nephew Phil will help me out for 10 minutes...

Thought I had posted photo of a box of plants that "Echoes" sent me for the garden..got them all planted .. she must have packed plants many times over because they were so well put in the box that all survived the trip from Manitoba....

Well it's time to get busy, want to finish the last of the cement bench, grouting the glass, keep promising I will then forget about it, think today's the day..lol..

Will drop in and show you photo of the sign up and old chair set with coat of blue/yellow paint later today..

Hope you are all safe...

Oh, it came out so beautiful Betty! We are only 601 miles apart!?! I thought for sure it would be more than that. You are so talented, there would be no sightseeing done for me until I explored your gardens and home only then could I leave your B&B!

Hugs -Kim

Victoria Harbour, ON

Kim, how wonderful to see you drop by...guess you will shortly be able to find quiet time now that gardening season is almost done...what grade will DD be entering this year ..time goes by so quickly I'd think grade 3..am I correct??? Were you pleased with the greenhouse this year?

Have the rest of the glass and bobbles attached to cement bench, needs to cure .. figure by late aft. I can grout...

Got the sign put up, looked huge but now that it's hanging it has the appearance of being 'small'.... a couple more coats of yellow to the chairs and then the remainder will have some green as to match the windows and flower boxes...

Feels good to have you visit in the garden..sat and looked at the signs showing where some of you are, many more to make - next 10 already cut but will keep them for next weekend..lol..can't do everything 'today'...

Think all my friends in this neck of the woods are feeling left out, so will have to come up with something to make them feel special, wanted and loved...

off I go, if I stop for a break, I'll never get moving..company, all except for Noah have gone, a quick sweep, wash the floors and house will be back to normal..

Hope it's a sunshine day in your neck of the woods!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Calling it a day, badly in need of clean-up, not yard, not house...me/me/me!!!

Grouted the cement bench I used up odd/ends of my glass, recycling I think it's called..wait for it to dry and buff it to take the film off...

Thumbnail by Bettypauze

Recycling the chair set, still a bit more painting to do...even if it just last this season I'm ok with it..

Very shaded at this time of night, but have the over the door sign up..now thinking about something for the doors, might try the wreath that you suggested...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Betty, I am very honored to be included in your frendship garden! Thank you!!! Your signs are AWESOME!!!!

Jeannine

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty your garden looks like there is a huge sign, that says, welcome, come on in! it looks so cozy, and beautiful. I wish I had a place like that. Our your is just a 200 X 200 lot, and wide open. we have part of it sectioned off with a privacy fence, but that is about it. I have my small garden down one side of the outside chain link fence.
Take care, and thanks for sharing your comfy zone with us.

Betty, I just stumbled across this thread, and I am sitting here in awe of your talent. How beautiful your little cottage has turned out. It just looks so warm, friendly and inviting!

I think I am going to have to drop a boat in Lake Ontario and paddle over to see you!

Debbie

Debbie,

We are ALL in awe of Betties talents and energy! If you have noticed-----we are on Part 58!

You want to be really awed? Just go back, one Thread at a time, and get your fill. Your eyeballs will pop!
Of course, there are many other talented people on here (ahem...) and it will be a joy to see all the works of art and crafts that this bunch has done.

Ask Betty when the first post was made. Might give you an idea what page it might be on by now. It won't be all that far back--as this post moves on to the next part almost every week.....So! Maybe two years?

Betty! I have a CHALLENGE for you!!!! Something you can do in your "spare time".....ahem...First of all--WHEN did this start?

Look up ALL the Posts #1- #58 and post their Hyperlinks here. May be easier for the new Folks to see the "birth" of this awesome Thread.

Are you game? You DO have time at work--No?

YES! You CAN hate me for suggesting this!!!! Mea Culpa!

Gita
