from what i read online, it is easy to grow it from the seed.
i have visited local walmart and home depot, i don't think that they sell them. so is ordering it online my only option?
where do you buy asparagus seeds?
I would think on line would be your best a safest bet, go to a company that guarantees good quality seeds, also ask for growing instructions as there are some do's and dont's with Asparagus for the first couple of years, if not done properly, you will kill off your plants by picking it too soon and these Asparagus beds should outlive you. good luck. I would buy the roots on line rather than planting seeds. If you Google for asparagus roots, you'll find they are quite inexpensive and you won't have to wait two-three years to pick asparagus. I got two-year roots, let them get settled in and grow the first year I planted them, and started picking this spring. Once you have home-grown asparagus, you'll never want store bought again. There is so much difference in the taste. They grow very easily. In an asparagus bed, or even planted among other plants, they can produce for many years.
