Thanks! I love taking sunset shots and clouds in general. This thread has gotten me to do more of that.

Anyone for JUST CLOUDS??
Another nice one, pixie! I had taken some really nice one in Sacramento, CA when I lived there in 1998, but they are all from film, and Lord knows if I'll ever get a chance to scan them. One day I would like to get a nice film and slide scanner so I can make all my pics digital.
Karen
Years ago I paid less than $100.00 for a slide scanner.
They should be easier to deal with now and attach to your USB port. This was about ten year ago.
Look online.
I think a good one for slides and negatives both runs about $350 these days.

REALLLLY .
Mine was just for slides. The problem with them is when all the slides and films are scanned there is no need for the scanner any more,so decide if the "one use " for that money is worth it.
I sold mine to another artist so it cut down on the cost of scanning.
Maybe there are used ones on Ebay?
Well, you do have a point there. I wouldn't use it after all the scanning is done, not unless I scanned for family. I do have thousands of pics and slides to scan, though, so it would probably take me years to finish it all. And with that many to scan I should probably go with a new scanner.

I scanned about 100 slides of my work, family pics were photos I could scan with my flatbed scanner.
If there are as many slides as you say it would be worth it for you to get one.
No clouds to day or take that back ,all clouds today.
Raining now.
not Kren -KAREN
my fingers are not working
my Epson 1650 will scan slides but if i buy an extra expense attachment that cost as much as the slide scanner I bought.
The slide scanner I bought was easier to use.
Wish I could remember what the brand was.
Nanegoat66, I do have a scanner that is an all-in-one like yours, and it's flatbed. But photos scan better if you do them from the negatives and turn them into a positive after scanning. It's a special process I have yet to learn. Like JoAnn (ge) said, you have to get a separate attachment to scan slides with it. Here is a photo I scanned and touched up with the scanner I have now. This was Babe, a horse I had when I lived in Reno, NV.

aaawww Babe is pretty
The DWWR shots are all great. Babe is absolutely beautiful. You don't have her anymore?
I didn't know about scanning negs. I rarely kept them so just scanned the positives.
Good Luck on this venture.
HEAVY clouds and humid almost fog.
Thanks, Nane. No, I don't have Babe anymore. No horses at all now. No time or money for them. I work too much, and all my money goes into my gardens and bills. LOL!

Oh, what a nice one Sofonisba! I like that.
