This one is also handmade from a DG member. I received it in a craft swap a couple of years ago. I have it hanging over my potting shed.

I don't have any, but these are all so great!
Hollyann: Looks like we have something in common with the birdhouses and garden art! I collect birdhouses, have many in the trees in the yard and more collectible ones on shelves and hanging on my covered deck and in my Florida Room!
That sign made by a DG'er is so cute! I just love hand made things like that. I have no artistic ability whatsoever and sure appreciate other's talents!
I
Very nice dragonfly! Did you make that? I love it.
We should start a thread just for Birdhouse pictures some day, I could probably fill half a thread!
I didn't make the house. Just painted and decorated it. Thanks. BEV
Great job!
Raggedy: Those are both beautiful! What a great job on that stepping stone in memory of your mom!
Raggedy: I also love them both. The stepping stone in your mothers memory is so very nice. I really love the one your husband gave you that is really beautiful.
Lin, Please start us a Birdhouse thread and post a link for us I really like that idea and have several I know you would like.
Ok Holly: I started a Birdhouse Thread: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/890318/
Holly, the Bachelor Button/Black eye'd Susan one is my all time favorite! Someone told me Emily Dickinson wrote it. Now I wonder if it's true.
One of my favorites is:
I've made an odd discovery. Every time I talk to a scholar I feel quite sure that happiness is no longer a possibility. Yet when I talk with my gardener, I'm convinced of the opposite.
-- Bertrand Russell
Harper
Whaaaa! Deb, I can't read it because the copright is covering it. What does it say?
Celene: That is a beautiful sentiment. Deb: I can't read it either because of the copyright marks. I would be very happy to do some plaques, or if people want to order special things, I also do on seashells, stones, burned into wood, found objects, why, you could even provide the object that you wanted the plaque done on.
BTW, I also do memorial pieces for pets and loved ones. These are for indoors only.
So far, I am LOVING this poetry thread. Keep it coming, folks.
Harper, I think Russell hit it right on the head.......I have also been convinced otherwise after a conversation with one of my dogs or new found kitty :)
Oh, wait. Louise, you just reminded me of what Will Rogers once said: "If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went."
Morrigan,
Please do make the signs and market them. I've always enjoyed little things like that in my gardens and would purchase them in a flash.
Two of my favorites faded out and were sent off to Sign Heaven. One read: "Plants are like potato chips! You can't have just one." The other read "Cares melt away when you kneel in your garden." They were on weathered wood and I knew they wouldn't last forever but I sure did like them.

DebinSC, We had been down to Brookgreen last fall and then again this spring. Last fall we took a rather long trip down from Pa. to Fl. and back up with several week long stops at different places one of which was MyrtleBeach. I asked on DG for some places to visit and that was one of the places I was told to go. We enjoyed it so much and the lovely Huntington Beach State Park that we whet back down for another two weeks this past spring and camped at the park.
Yolie: You got it....as soon as I scoop poop and do litter-box doody, er, duty :-)) Sorry, bathroom humor overtook me for a moment...
I am enjoying seeing, and reading, everyone's Garden Poetry. I don't have any myself yet, but hoping to in the future. : ) Keep them coming.

Yolie: That "potato chips" quote is oh so true!
DebinSC: I Love that garden sign. Wonderful verse!
We have 4 cats in our family (was 5 at one time) and a friend gave me a T-Shirt once that showed a bunch of cats and said "Cats are like Potato Chips, you can't have just one!" I really like it even better saying Plants or Flowers! Would make a great garden sign or T-Shirt!
Good one Pixie! I think most of us can attest to that saying. Would make a great garden sign or kitchen wall plaque!
Already asked DH to warm up the wood burnner/engraver, just need to find the perfect piece of wood. ^_^
Here is one that I have always loved. If any craftsperson/artisan puts this to wood, stone, metal I would be a buyer.
Therefore to this dog will I,
Tenderly not scornfully,
Render praise and favor:
With my hand upon his head,
Is my benediction said
Therefore and forever.
E.B. Browning
wow! I just found this thread....
I dont have many outdoor signs...but the one I do love (hanging on entry wall) is
"I love to give home grown gifts! ........which one of the kids do you want?!"
tee hee!
1AnjL- that is tooooo funny!!!!
My DH bought me a small sign several years ago:
"Don't just stand there; WEED!"
lolol!
I want to paint that on a rock for my garden... and the grow D$#%-it.... and a few others that I've seen! LOL!
I think the first one I will do is a 'poetry' stepping stone with NO words... it will have DD footprints on the outside edge, and DGS footprints on the inside :o) most beautiful poem I've ever read :oD
I love to paint on pretty beach rocks for the garden, so many ideas here. Thanks for the thread, it’s wonderful.
Don't have a picture, but at the entrance to my Memory Garden I have a plaque with the poem Rainbow Bridge printed on it. Have 5 Greyhounds and 1 Rhodesian Ridgeback buried there...no way can I read that plaque without a box of tissues.
That EB Browning is too wonderful...I am going to get to work today! This thread is soooo inspiring. How about one that says "Welcome to the Garden of Weedin' "?
Oh, The "Rainbow Bridge" would be perfect for an area in the garden where our beloved fur babies are buried! I have a cross in our pet garden in the backyard. I just posted this on another forum yesterday. My favorite version of the Rainbow Bridge with beautiful music to accompany the verse. Make sure your volume is up andYep, get the tissues out: http://www.indigo.org/rainbowbridge_ver2.html
