It's my pleasure to open a new thread. We came from this one http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/885412/
Here's a moorhen from Wallington Hall gardens. I love their huge feet!

Daily pics Vol 130
Great pic Sue! Those are some huge feet.
Thanks for starting the new thread!
Pelle
those ARE big feet. I'm surprise they don't get mistaken for worms!!
Frank, great series in the last thread. I know that lotus are often invasive, but they are so cool.
Yes, same species. Different subspecies, though; ours is Gallinula chloropus chloropus, yours is Gallinula chloropus cachinnans. Other subspecies in Africa and South America.
Resin
thank you Resin. Isn't it amazing that two birds so far apart can look so much alike?

Frank why don't you repost the last pic of yours in the old thread here?
Nice pics everyone!
alelbertcat, how awful with the fires. We haven't heard anything on the news for the last couple of weeks. Is there any sign that they are coming under control?
Good pics, everyone. The Cardinals seem to stare directly at the camera.
This is one of our beloved native parrots, the Port Lincoln Ringneck or "28". It was looking dolefully at a couple of Rainbow Lorikeets (eastern states imports and a b.... pest) who had comandeered its nest hollow.
f_chisolm, you may be right.
MargaretK..............Some of the fires are being controlled but the ones in the rugged country will burn until the rains come. There was a thunder storm that moved through here a couple of hours ago, No rain with it. Haven't heard if it started any new fires.

As always, dellrose, your pics are just incredibly beautiful.
adelbertcat, here's hoping for rain. It's the knowledge of the utter misery, suffering and devastation to flora and fauna left in the wake of bushfires that is so heartbreaking. When you consider that some of these fires are deliberately lit, it makes it all the more difficult to come to grips with.
