feldon, thanks for the link and the dates. I better get busy and get them in the ground. I have to pull up some Swiss Chard it's taken a hit in the drought like conditions wev'e had. Plus nobody eats it here.
I have had weird results with cukes started in the ground. I start them in moist seed starting mix indoors and they usually spring up in 1-2 days and then I plant outside during an afternoon. I didn't mess with lights or hardening off or anything. Just basically I'm able to control the moisture and soil better indoors for that first 48 hours. I got a good amount of cukes this year.
I had rotten results earlier on. Good for you getting a good harvest.
Some people start cucumber seeds every few weeks all summer long. Some produce, some don't. But it evens out your chances of getting a good harvest. Laziness was the only roadblock that kept me from doing this this year. ;)
