AHEM!!!!
pix please?! what ever happened to posting a weekly pix? or maybe a bi-weekly photo? I wanna see what stayed alive in the winter!
I'll post a pix of that great grandbaby if you post a pix of that garden! teehee!
As Mom's Garden Grows.....
Hi Anjl!!
How're you doing? On the mend?
hopefully going to go back to work soon! been off for 5 1/2 months! grrr!
Glad you're back in fighting spirit. Happy to see you here.
Sorry, there is nothing to take a picture of. Everything has died back. Won't take more pix until spring.
DGGS looks exactly like DGD at that age. Please send more pix. I will send pix of garden as soon as there is something to post.
Hugs,
Mom
I was in a local nursery yesterday, and checked out their trial gardens. It was fun to see all the "noses" poking up out of the ground. Lost my mind & thought February was done 7 gone. reality hit - I bought a shrub. the end. 24 days more...
And temps are supposed to drop again with rain next week. Sigh.
But tonight I left work at 5 and it was light for a lot of my commute home. Yay!!
AnjL, glad you're feeling better!
AnjLsmom, sounds like you need to put in some evergreens next year.
Katye, I think our area is hard on plants, it keeps fooling them it's spring.
Katie, I'm having to unexpectedly move my garden in this weather...
Hi Laura,
I've been praying for you. I hope the lord blesses you with a new, bigger garden! dont worry about your plants that are left behind (if any) all of us DGers here will make sure you have plenty to fill your new gardens with! Just look at all they sent for moms gardens! and my own gardens are overflowing with DG treasures from all the wonderful giving DGers here.
I'll set aside some sage for Sage's newer bigger garden! teehee!
Yes, Laura. At the very least, make a list and take some cuttings of what you have. I'm sure we can help you replace at least some of what you have!!
Laura, if you have time.....dmail me a list of your 'wants'
I'll post them and as people post that they have the item, I'll mark it as fulfilled for you. we can all get cuttings started for you now, and once you get moved and are ready to plant....just let us know and we can mail them :o)
Great idea, 1Anjl. Can you start a new thread for it. Maybe with a topic like "Restarting Laura (Zhinu)'s Garden". This will be fun.
We can pop some cuttings in my EZ Cloner for Laura.
I have lots of strawberry starts, Laura, if you are interested.
Laura, we need a list of what you are leaving behind, so maybe we can replace them.
So sorry
Hugs
I'll start a thread when I can take pictures of the new place. I think we found the place and it has no yard to speak of. It might be back to container gardening. The place is small, but very cheap for around here, so we'll be able to put away some money, which we decided was more important in this economic environment then more elbow room. It's also really close to mom's.
Thank everyone for their good wishes and offers of plants.
Laura,
Do you use earthboxes? I am going to try to make one.
Never done so before, but if I have enough sun I'm thinking of making "shoe tree" planters this year, but I fear my whole yard is going to be in some form of shade. *sigh* I suppose it's a bit better than my last house, at least I'll have more room. Here's the place I had before my current place http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/541281/
wow Laura, anythings gotta be better than that dinky lil space! Just let us know once you have the place for certain....so we can start planning! teehee! I think I feel another northern trip coming up! we can all meet at lauras new place and do an AnjL extreme yard makeover like we did on moms! any takers?! teehee!
I know economy is tough right now but the UPSIDE is all the wonderful co-ops here on DG !!
Check out my latest co-op ^_^

see what happens when they keep me out of work for soooo long?! LOL!
Here's my new yard http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/962115/
yay! now we get to help Laura create a new oasis!
Anjl, love the little dimpled fingers, and the big brown eyes! He's a doll!
I'd be glad of the help, I'm a bit over whelmed at the moment.
Laura, would love to have a small neat place at lest I could keep up with it. I have a acer that most of it has never been touch. making baby steps, as to looking at the whole is over whelming, to many ideas and only me. I work 50 hours a week, and the weather hates us LOL
Take it slow and easy, and make it right for you. ^_^
That would be a big job for one person.
and this is what it looked like in full bloom in May ^_^
This is just ONE area of the yard, still have several more areas to complete one step at a time tho! lol!
I am doing the cobblestone patio in the area that D is standing in this pix, walkway/patio will wrap around the garden and along the gym/studio and u to the arbor. I have about 20 sq feet completed right now lol! only 680 sq ft to go! lolol!
Beautiful job AnjL.
Big job, well done! I hope I do as well. Though I could use some of the mountain of dirt to even my back yard out with.
Zone 9 LOL, Anna don't we wish. ^_^
You have a wonderful place, love it.
Hows your mom's place doing???
And where is Sis?? I have not hear from her for a long time, is she ready to battle my yard again, Oh forgot she left her shirt here, and my DH likes it. Funny.
lol, Laura, I would gladly ship you Mt bailey...if there was a way! I HATE that mountain of dirt! was put there 'temporarily' 2 years ago...we were going to use it to level the front yard, but decided against that project. so now the issue is...what to do with all that dirt! ugh! will use some in new front yard beds, and some to fill in the cobblestone walkway...but its mainly heavy clay, so have to amend it lots and lots!
Mom is here in CA right now, she took a train trip down here for my birthday. was staying with me last week, now at my other sisters house visiting with them. She'll be headed back to WA this weekend...tho its a 24 hour train trip lol! not sure when she will arrive. I did convince her to take pix when she gets back home, even if its all dormant...will give me ideas of where we need to add year round interest.
Sis has been busy with her son, doesnt get online to post much these days ~he's headed off to college next year, so she is devoting lots of time with him before he goes. I know they are planning to take a cross-country train trip this summer similar to the trip I took with DD. I'll let her know about the shirt lol!
