Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

i soerta got zaped today after DH & i taking turns, slepeing outside, etc. we were both in fo ra bit, and that GS came and took out at least two chickens! called the sheriff. at first i thought the bich [she is a puppy machine, a very HUGNRY one] got my Best Buckey, his tail feathers were everywhere, but apparently he was attacking the dog whil eit was getting the PBR pullet. anyhow, FINALLY they have turned in a complaint to the coutny attorney's office. we will see if that does me any good.

so, as soon as i get the ILT info for patchouli, i will find some really good thoughts for JKJ's pup.... i need more positive energy in my life coming TO me in order to GIVE more...

that dog ususlaly comes earlier, i think she smelled me [i have been hiding] and was waiting for me to go in the house.

DH *WILL* pack the 58 for me tonight... o ri will learn how to do it myself... that Rossi 20 guage does nto have good scatter...

Foley, MO

Go get 'em tf!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

what kind of dog is it? I think I would have me a dog out there that would take out that dog.

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

a GS. i video taped her threaetening me when i went near THEIR property to find signs of my birds. the sheriff went and tookpics of them for me, he found them. gruesome pics. i showed him where i found the cleaned up duck feathers in the dumpster. proves they have been lying and cleaning up after herknwoing that MY FLOCK was feeding their dog, who was nursing their 250 dollar pups!

i got me a great dane mix. he barsk when she comes around. i was on the phone with Beverly when he barked and didn't get out fast enough.

but Sir Duke also chases and scares the chickens, etc...

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I gave my grandmother 6 hens and 1 roo of the crested and guess which ones my mom wanted, the laced polish. I said nope. Now she wants to free range some chickens, i told her that the dogs would have to go. I will give her some of the crested and the bantams.

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

yep girl, keep them laced ones! i sold some the other day, six weeks old, for 8 bucks a piece... but i kept my silver one...

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

that dog should be put down, better yet the owners should be. Can you catch the dog and chain it up.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

sweet I have a lady coming monday to buy some of the crested and wasnt sure what price. They are delivering the turkeys and other birds to me so I will give them a break, I was thinking 6 bucks each.

Gate (Rochester), WA(Zone 7b)

Same here ladies. Hope that puppy is OK.

TF, sure would be nice if you or DH could put a shot or 2 in that GS. Costly trip to vet (not dead mind you) would hit the neighbors pocketbook ~ much like they are hitting yours. Being their money making babies mama & all....... Where is the closest airport to you? Should I start planning a trip? Wonder if I can get on plane w/ my 20gauge in baggage if checked? 12gg too much for my shoulder. lol sore for about a week when I tried 3 shots in a row. Jeez, wish I were closer, could take a night watch for you.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

great idea sis! I have those free flight miles we could use up :o) between the three of us we should get some good target practice :o) tee hee!

londonderry, Australia

oh my god if all u guys are at it that dog wont have a chance not that i usualy like getting dogs when they kill somthing cause it is in there nature but that thing is just gettin out of hand

a good golf club (i'd say a 9 iron would do it) and your little dog problem will be fixed

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

use AMA airport, i'll pick y'all up! gonna get a nap before time to pack the gun...

i cna't get close enough to that dog for a club! i am guessing i'll have a good hiding place about 70 yards over to the side... i can hit a 2x2 at 30, and it is a BIG dog. growls pretty viciously at me too, got a video of that. and smart, she can smell me when i am out there close. another reason for cover further away...

it may have been my 4:30 AM roo Buddy she ate yesterday. the pics from the sheriff didn't give me an idea of size. but all the other roos have been crowing this morning ALL of them, taking turns, like a memorial service or something?

tf

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

"catch the dog" LOL

caugth it on video yesterday pacing and growling at me.

gonna catch it with a chunk o flead this morning...

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

i am sitting here rooting for you. GET THAT DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

yeah, gotta get DH "up" first... i can't pack a black powder! and with all that crowing that dog will come early as opposed to late... the sheriff took its meal away yesterday...

;-) thanks

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

too rainy. had to turn them out so they wouldn't get soaked [henhouse closed up for week old chicks], and instead of getting under the trees they are all running around getting bugs! i bet they keep the dog up today. maybe tomorrow...

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

hey we need someone to start a new thread this one has gone to the chickens............

I'm sort of sorry for the dog. After all it's got really bad owners who let it get puppies and now won't feed it so it can feed the puppies. How about trapping the dog and taking it to a shelter a couple hundred miles from home? It just might get lucky with it's next owner.

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

this dog killed my PerfectBuckeye as a PUPPY last October, then came back for two ducks a laying hen and a pet cornish roo... THE NEXT DAY! NO, they shouldn't even be breeding a dog like this. this kind of dog is only good dead. sorry i wasn't more explicit about the situation... them not feeding her has made it worse IMHO... trust me, i would shoot this dog even if it were MY BELOVED...

;-(

Columbia, TN(Zone 7b)

sounds like they've encouraged it and mistreated it from the git go.

MollyD

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

like i said, they are poor snobs, don't want to clean the poop up in their yard, so they let it out the front door... instead of the fenced back yard. spent 1500 on the dog, but can't take care of her. my main concern is to have no more losses, and to get sheriff out here ASAP after shooting, since the owner, though warned, will retaliate...

Columbia, TN(Zone 7b)

What sort of thing would they do TF ?

MollyD

Paris, TN

Be careful with that some folks could get crazy if you shoot their dog even if they were warned I just can't imagine somebody like that not taking responsibility for their dog especially if their dog could get shot! I feel for ya tf

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

guys got a bad temper. sheriff talked to him and not the wife. i spoke last year to a friend of the wife whose DH is a deputy in another county. he is controlling and abusive with a bad temper. last fall he lost it when i went to speak to them after the first known attack,a nd said he would come over and whoop my Dh a$$ if he shot the dog. i can only imagine what he would do if he knew a GIRL shot it... like i said, i will be calling it in immediately!

hey, we have a new chat thread!

this gal has got to go be slave to her children and husband for a few minutes before hitting the poultry shed again, and doing MP rounds LOL...

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Be sure the neighbor doesn't retaliate by going out there and shooting your chickens when you're not home...

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

yep. cameras on. not oging anywhere.... just keeping an eye out. thx.
