Dwarf japanese maple

Has anyone had experience with this tree [or bush]? I had to have a large tree cut down, the roots were invading the foundation of my house. I wanted a smaller tree to put in its place. I bought a dwarf japanese maple to put there. Can it be planted now or do I wait for cooler weather? also are there any special planting instructions?

I keep all my JM's in pots so I can't tell you if there's anything special they need when being planted, but summer is pretty much always the worst time of year to plant anything, so I'd keep it in a pot until cooler weather. We've got a whole forum for Japanese Maples so you might consider posting over there for advice--there are some people who are really super knowledgeable about JM's over there and they can tell you all the right things to do.
