Hi I am new too gardening this year. I am mostly a container gardener since I live in a townhome community. I am also fortunate enough to have an end unit and own the flower beds surrounding my unit, so I am able to plant some vegetable there. I have planted lettuce, radish, parsley, squash (zucchini), a couple varieties of tomatoes, and green beans. My question is: I planted the seeds for the beans then threw the seed bag away. I was in a hurry to get the beans in the ground and forgot to write down what variety they are. My problem is that I don't know how to tell if they are bush variety beans or ones that grow on a vine. Is there any way to tell the difference. The bean plants vary from about 6"-9" high and I just planted them a week ago. I just want to know what type of beans they are so I know whether I need to form a trellis or put stakes in with them to grow on. Thanks for the help!
New to gardening and need help with beans please!
If they are pole beans, you will be able to tell when they start sending up the first runner.
