Well, my newness to gardening has created a problem in our first time garden.
We have planted the squash to close to each other and to close to other plants. The other plants are now suffering as they are getting strangled.
Should I cut back the squash?
Or remove it all together. Not all of the plants - but maybe half of them.
And if I remove them - can I move them to another bed?
Such a shame to have to remove these healthy beautiful plants.
Well - at least we know for next time.
removing some squash plants :(
better to remove the weaker of the plants. squash dont take well to transplanting so i doubt you would have much success with transplanting a mature plant that is producing fruit, but thats not to say you cant try. I would remove all of the fruit and flowers before transplanting so the plant can focus on reestablishing its root system.
