I started some lupines from seeds this year and a few of them have got brown leaves. The healthy seedlings started at the same are about 5 times bigger and one of the sick ones have died.
Can you please tell me what is wrong with this plant? Is it too much water? Is it some sort of disease?
Thank you.
what is wrong with the lupine?
It could be too much water--whenever you have little tiny plants in a big pot it makes it very easy to overwater them. I'd probably try putting the sickly ones into individual smaller pots and see if that helps them.
Should I let the soil dry out between watering? Thanks!
I'd let them dry out at least a little more than you have been and see if that makes a difference--make sure you're checking by sticking your finger down an inch or two into the soil rather than just looking at the surface. The surface will look dry fairly quickly, but just under the surface things stay wet for a lot longer, and you shouldn't be watering until it's drying out a couple inches down.
Thank you for the advice. I will water less. Hope they can survive.
