I think this plant happily growing in my garden is a weed. It is about 5 foot tall and these flowers are on the top. Am I correct?
weed?
It's still pretty.
Did you know there are pages and pages of Quotes about weeds???
...a weed is a plant out of place. ^_^
I'm with nanniepb. If you like it, it's not a weed. I can't figure out what the heck it is but I think it belongs to Onagraceae (the evening primrose family).
Whatever it is, I want one !
Very nice.
I bet if you post it over in the ID forum someone there will know what it is. I really don't think it's a weed though whatever it is!
the fact that it's 5' tall with blooms intrigues me.
Keep us posted if you do find a name, k?
Too pretty to be a weed, but I have no clue what it is.
Oh my, if this is a weed I sure wish I had some of them !!!! So pretty !
Hi,
Oh Weed such a nice thing to see. I hope it will make happy to everyone.

Sure glad people like my weed; if you like them, you should see my flowers! lol.
I posted the picture on the plant ID forum and it has been identified as Great Willowherb, a relative of fireweed. I have been advised to pull it out before it sets seed! When I look at the large size it has become in just this year, I am very afraid that it is good advice. I think we're going to replant it someplace out of the garden.
Nanniepb, I can't say for sure but I don't really think yours looks quite like mine. Kay
I was going to wait a day or so to see if it blooms, but I'm going there next. =)
