Honeysuckle vine

Jacksonville, NC(Zone 8b)

I think this is a honeysuckle vine I ordered that had no label. Any confirmation?
Any special planting insructions?
Thanks

No, not a honeysuckle--they don't have lobed leaves like some of the leaves on this plant. Also their leaf arrangement is opposite and yours looks alternate. I've seen some Passifloras that have leaves like that, did you order one of those? I'm sure there are other possibilities too.

Thanks,
I'm just gonna plant it and see what I get.

You might hold off a bit on planting, the middle of summer is the worst time of year to plant things. Trying to get established in the heat of summer is very stressful for plants and your success rate with them will be lower than if you wait until the weather's a little cooler.

Thanks for the info. You can really tell I'm a beginner. What about some trees and shrubs I have that was shipped to me? They are in small containers right now. How can I keep them healthy untill the weather cools a little? The containers are pretty small because they are really growing. One is a flowering Quince, the other is a crabapple, and another is a japanese snowball bush.I really don't want to lose them.

What I do with all the plants I get during the summer is keep them in their containers, and I'll usually keep them somewhere that they get some good sun in the morning and early afternoon, but are shaded during the hottest part of the day, that way the containers don't dry out quite as fast (that's for sun loving plants, for shade lovers I'll give them more shade). Sometimes I'll pot things up into the next larger size container if it's still a few months until I can plant them and they're getting too big for the container they're in. Then when it's closer to planting time, if they're full sun plants I'll gradually adjust them to being in a sunnier location, then I'll plant them. You won't necessarily lose them by planting them now, but it makes your job a lot harder and it's more stressful for them, and you'll have a higher percentage that don't make it.
