can someone tell me what kind of tree this is??

This tree has been around for over twenty years. It has white flowers in the spring that last for about 2 months. There are now these new string bean looking things that are growing from it all of a sudden or maybe i just havent noticed before. any suggestions?? thanks!

I beleive it is a Catalpa tree. Other names are Catawba and Indian Bean Tree. For additional pictures for comparison and info on the tree see this link in the Plant File Database : http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1682/
