I planted these last fall and forgot to save the info card. Photo was taken late in the day, so blooms are somewhat closed. During the day they when they are open, they are a pinkish-yellowish color, with red spots. Blooms are only about an inch and a half in diameter, and after they've bloomed for a few days, they "twist" closed rather than fall off. Anyone know what this could be? I originally thought it was a lilly, but now I'm not so sure.
Thanks,
Dan
Plant ID Please
Blackberry lily.
Sure enough, that's it. Thanks!
I have a stand of Blackberry Lillies. They became very invasive on me until I learned to harvest the seed pods. I let a select few seed pods ripen to reseed the plants. The rest I clip off, collect and trash. This also helps the plants remain standing upright as the heavy seed heads make the plant top heavy and floppy (at least in my yard).
