Daily Pics Vol 126
Nanny - I have 2 red-bellied woodpeckers that come to my feeder every morning. They are a hoot to watch. They have a routine they do every morning. They fly to the top of the powerline pole, drill away on the very top of the pole, and then fly down to the feeder. They don't scare very easily either. I have almost walked right up to one before it decided to fly away.
GM - I never get to see the Goldfinches when they are yellow. When they overwinter here, they are always brown/gray colored. I see them molting right as they are leaving in the Spring to fly north. They are so pretty. Your chickadee is a cutie. Never seen any of those birds here at all.
dellrose - OMG! I love the cardinal one! How adorable!!! :-)
Boy! your camera takes some very nice crystal clear shots. Beautiful all of them! Your jays above are wonderful, too! The bluejays that come to my feeder are kinda the loud mouth birds here. They literally seem like they come crashing into the feeder to chase all the other birds away! And then they sort through all the whole peanuts until they find just the one they like before they fly off with a mouthful! They seem to have big personalities! LOL!
Yes, dellrose takes some awesome pics!!!!!!!
They are always crisp and clear!!! GM
Thanks Becky...those Juvies just steal my heart...(and yours too I'm sure)! They get the funniest expressions on their faces when they see all the food available. Those Blue Jays rule the roost here too but I did witness two Cards ( a female and a juvie) giving one a bad time! I feel like I am watching birds 23/7 and if I start chirping I will have myself committed!! LOL!
Thanks GM...I am trying to learn, it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks I am finding out!
Mrs_Ed - Beautiful Jay!
I am wondering if my Jays act like that because all the birds that come to the feeder are larger birds, too. I don't ever see any small birds during the summer months. All the birds line up on the powerline right behind my house every morning waiting for me to bring breakfast out. The Cardinals are the first ones to come to the feeder, then the squirrels hit the feeders on the ground, and then the Jays come swooping in. And finally the doves when it seems all the others are finished pigging out. Those doves are just the most easy going birds. They come in a flock too! And then they come back periodically throughout the day. They are all so beautiful with all the different colors. Now I want some of those Monk Parrots to find my feeders! LOL!
He is handsome Mrs. Ed and he looks like a gentleman!! Lovely shot!
Nice GM! The chickadees are here but during the summer they don't really come to the feeders alot. Just when they seem to have fledglings!
Glad I inspired you rose and those are fantabulous!!
Mrs. Ed that jay shot is WOW! I am always trying to get a shot like that!
Beautiful Blue Jay Mrs Ed!
Rose,The Cardinal pic is smashing!
GM, Lovely shots; my Chickadees are back thank goodness.
Yes, great Blue Jay Mrs Ed!!! GM
Margaret - LOL ! Love those orange-red legs, beaks, and eyes! Beautiful birds!
MargaretK...........As far as I know it's a real photo......I wish I had taken it.
No pics yet, but I think there might be a Hummingbird nest up near the end of a dead looking branch in my back yard. the female always flies to the same spot and does something that is blocked from my vision.;-( She sits "watch on a very nearby branch, but returns to the "hidden" area in question quite frequetly.
Does that sound like a nest to anybody out there knowledgable about hummers nests?? She always goes there after she has had a good drink too.
Love the Oystercatcher Margaret! I just missed seeing one at the shore.
Cool shot of the Oystercatchers Margaret...I've never seen one!
Cool shots Margaretand Adel!!

Resin
Thanks for the id, Resin. I was just too lazy to look it up.
Excellent pics Dave! I love the Red-bellieds!
It seems more than odd, after seeing the closeup shot of the red bellied tongue, that I see them at the sugar-water feeders drinking away...how do they do it?
