Once a red yucca has bloomed and produced large seed pods, should the long flowers stems be cut off or back? It's unattractive after it blooms
Red yucca maintenance
Once it's already made seeds it's not going to do anything else, so if you don't like it I don't see why you couldn't cut it back.
I realize that one of the great attributes of this plant is its low (or no) maintenance requirement, and that's the main reason I grow it. However, this year I finally tried cutting off the seed pods before they got much larger than a pea, and found not only did the stems produce a bit more in the way of blooms, but the flowering stems didn't arch and flop over like they have in past years.
