There are little bugs eating everything... they are tiny and black - any ideas??

Hopefully you can see them in the pick - None of my other plants (tomatoes, pepper, squash) seem to be troubled!

Fleabeetles, they love eggplant, but will eat other plants when they are hungry. Many insecticides work depending on your biases. There are both organic and regular forms available at most garden centers.

THANK YOU!!

I am off to the store- can you give me any products name?

if you can see them, they can be removed by vacuuming with a small battery powered vac

Liquid Sevin, Ortho Bug-B-Gone, Pyrethrin

So I am back from Home Depot - thanks again for your help.. I bought a plant dust - and some type of soap spay. Both "organic" well I could not pronouce any thing in it – so as organic as home depot can be I guess. The spay seemed to kill on contact - and I will use the dust in a couple days. Any thoughts on how often I need to treat?

How long before they get to my tomatoes?

If the spray got them, inspect the plants each week -10 days. I f new ones arrive spray them. If you got them, they probably will never get to the tomatoes. Actually they only do cosmetic damage to tomatoes anyway. Unless you have a dust applicator, dusts are pretty useless as well as dangerous. It goes everwhere but where you want it, even tho it may be toxic in itself, breathing any type of dust is not good for you.

Cool - I will return the dust tomorrow!!

With the leaves that the bugs got - those are goner's yes? should I cut them off? Or just let them be?

Thanks for all you help!

The ones in your photos don't look bad, Unless they turn brown, I would just let them be.

Is/ was your dust diatomaceous earth? If so it does work very well - I have very good results and it does not bother me enough to wear a mask (I do have asthma)
