The city in which I reside has mild weather (40s in winter, high 60s in summer), and 9 out of 10 days are cloudy. What kind of pot plants will be best to have in my apartment? Am I limited to full shade plants? I have beautiful irises back home, and am also interested in other bulbs like fall blooming crocus and hyacinth, but unsure if will they survive in such climate. Any input will be appreciated, thanks.

Cloudy weather year roundwhat house plant to have?
If you're growing things indoors and want to grow things with higher light requirements, you can always add supplemental lighting with things like grow lights. Outdoors obviously you have fewer options for adding light, but I'm not sure the situation's quite as bad as you're thinking. I'm not sure where on the coast you actually are, but I know people in San Francisco and other areas where it's foggy still manage to grow lots of beautiful things. Maybe 9 out of 10 days for a few months in the summer are foggy, but spring and fall there's usually plenty of sun. You might have trouble with things that need really blazing sun to do well, but those aren't going to make the best houseplants anyway.
