OT-More Outside Beauties-2 : )

I may cry over such well wishes from you all! I can't imagine you having to go through shingles without as much 'help.....meds' as I am getting..........they only make the pain tolerable enough to survive...............even if it is a southern expression, I am forced to say, 'Bless Your Little Heart', Lou.

Ellerbe, NC(Zone 8a)

GAIL!!!! You're back! So good to see you posting. You were very much missed. Hope it gets a little bit better everyday....and you're up to full speed soon. Don't they have some new medicine for post shingles pain?.......It seems I've heard commercials for it. But my pea brain can't remember the name of it.

If it were me suffering with that malady, I'm afraid I'd have to have something to knock me out! I would just want to go to sleep until it was all over! As I said, a couple of my family members have had shingles and I know how bad it affected them.

Quoting:
I may cry over such well wishes from you all!
- ok, I won't, because it may hurt to cry . . . but I am glad you're feeling better!

guess where I went today!!!

I'll be back with a few pictures . . .

(Zone 1)

Ooooh, Did Syru go to a favorite nursery today? Possibly the one Gail has told us so much about that I WISH I lived closer to?

Pictures ... Pictures .... Yes, we want Pictures!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Hmm, quite possibly. I mean, I did have a half day off (of which only DH knew) . . . I DID have to exchange some shorts my mom had gotten for DS at a Target . . . and don't you know, there is a Target at a shopping center called The Rim . . . I got there, did the exchange, got the rest of his uniforms and most of the supplies . . . and then, well, since said nursery is ONLY 15 minutes away, I really shouldn't pass up the opportunity . . . my rational side said - you've spent too much already, so you better turn left and head towards home, but don't you know . . . the car went Right all by itself!

Here is my very first sinningia - it is also named after someone special - Rebecca (although, mine is spelled Rebekah). I couldn't pass her up! She's looking a bit wilty in the bloom, because she had such a wait in the car . . .

Now all I need are plants for my DS and his cousin - Russell & Tymothy. For Sydney, I have morning glories!

This one was on one of the mini/semi-mini shelves . . . don't know anything about it, except it has nice variegation . . . will need to research Jolly Hero!

I did notice when I got it home that it looks like it may have a purple bud just under a leaf . . .

Only one more . . . I find myself drawn more and more to the trailers . . .

Cherokee Trail

I just realized that the pots and magazine that I had bought as well were left in the car . . . now I have to wait for DH to get home in the morning to read it! Oh, well . . . more time for repotting tonite!

Wow, you got some real cutie's there! Oh, I KNOW I would never be able to go anywhere within 10 miles of that nursery without my car taking control and cruising right to their parking lot! LOL.
Last year Gail gave us a photo tour of that nursery, or at least I think it's probably the same one, I forget the name! I just know a bunch of us were salivating over all the beauties that Gail posted pic's of.

Oh how I wish we had some good nurseries nearby that sold Gessie's, and Hoya's!

South, TX

Those variegated violets are right up my alley! LOVELY!!!!!

(Zone 1)

I think we need a new August thread ... this one is getting pretty long which will make it take forever for those on dial up.

If any of y'all have something blooming, old or new ... how about starting a new August Bloom Thread?

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

It probably is the same one . . . it is called Hill Country African Violets & Nursery . . .

Ooh - there is a foreign substance falling from the sky! I must go capture some of it! I will start a new thread when I get back if nobody else yas yet!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Nichole, you will love that Cherokee Trail (actually I sent you home with one......you just don't know it yet because it probably didn't have a name on it)..........

Love that sinningia........i think we got the same one........mine is Rebecca x self...........

OK....Lin, you know I can't start a new thread so will you do it, please?
Thanks
gail

PS. The medicine they usually use I think after the anti viral medicine is taken and the creams, etc......is called Lyrica but it made my pain much worse..........so I am taking another one that I can't spell (LOL)

(Zone 1)

Excuse my last post above ... I was thinking I was on the August Blooms forum. Anyone have any blooming outside beauties to begin a new thread to replace this one? I posted a request on the AV Bloom thread for a new one too!

Syru: Yep ... Hill Country African Violets is one of them. And, there was another nursery (not just Gessie's) that Gail visited and gave us a photo tour of too! Don't remember the name of it either. Y'all have some great nurseries in Texas!

Oh, we've had lots of not exactly foreign stuff falling from the sky in our area lately! We have really needed the rain but now we are having an abundance of it .... and more to come with Tropical Storm Fay - hopefully she will not become a Hurricane!

(Zone 1)

Gail, I will let Nichole start a new thread. I am too lazy to get up and take a picture.

Ok, I'm confusing myself again. This is the Off Topic, Outside Bloomer's Thread! We could use a new one for outside plants (other than Gessie's) too but I'm not going outside to take pictures in the rain and dark! LOL. Maybe someone can start a new one for this thread tomorrow.
