I'm stumped. Last year these flowers had yellow petals. This year all I get is this. Anybody know why? All the flowers are doing this and some have NO petals.
Rudbeckia
There's a disease/virus/whatever called "Aster yellows" that causes plants in the Aster family to do odd things like that. I'm not positive that's what it is but it's all I can think of.
Should I remove them? The rest of the plant is doing fine.
I would, to be on the safe side. If it is Aster yellows it's not curable and can spread to other plants via insect bites. Hopefully it's just an anomally.
Nertz! I'll remove it now. Thanks. (sniff)
