Tropical Garden #14
Jeri, that rangoon creeper is my favorite all time plant and bloom! Thanks for sharing. I am going to try one next summer. I did fine with them in New Braunfels which is zone 8 . Just haven't stoppped to get one here.
***edited to say I think I might feel an addiction coming on with hibiscus when I see ones like you all are showing us

Thanks gessiegail!!! I've had the single before but this is my first double. I love them!!! I have some seeds from the single. Does anyone know if you plant the whole pod or shell it?
I have never grown it from a seed. I used to buy them at a nursery called Schultz in Marion, Texas.
texasbigleaves,
If you're looking for an ID for the EE you posted on July 17 at 9:47, it's a c. Black Stem, also called Fontanesii. Here's a link to it in PlantFiles:

Jeri, what are those 3 plants you are experienmenting with?
Good morning Debbie!!! It's my seeds for the single rangoon creeper. I collected 3 of them last year. I'm gonna soak them, then nick one, shell one and just plant one and see which way they will sprout.
You are truly a Master Gardener Jeri.
LOL or a madd scientist!!!!
LOL I remember the first time I went to your house. You had your heating machine for cuttings or whatever that thing was in the living room. I thought, geez, am I supposed to be doing something like this. Thank God for already grown plants.
Now Rita, don't be watching this idiot. I was afraid they would burn in the sun. LOL
I am surrounded by Pros like you and Jeri and Kim. I know ya'll must shake their heads at my foolishness constantly, but they are kind. :)
Rita that is just beautiful. I dare to say is that a bougainvilla? I just called a brug a plumeria on midsouth. Duh. And your plumago is awesome. I've had mine in a pot and it doesn't grow alot. I just put it in the ground hoping. Any tips.? I love your cutleafs. I have 3 and they are wonderful carefree plants.
What's the verdict on Messenger?
Does anybody use it?
Do you find that it does what it''s supposed to do?
Let's get some opinions!!!!
Hetty,
How often?
Thanks Rita I just loved it too!!! At the meeting they just told me it was a bird's nest sansiveria. I just looked it up and the latin name is Sasivieria trifasciata ' Golden Hahnii.
Debbie I just love planting seeds. Some grow and some don't. What I'm bad about is moving things up to the next size pot. With the drought that I'm in all I do lately is water.
Seed growing has not been my forta. But I'm sure I'll learn. LOL
Thankyou Rita. :)
Rita: off-topic but I absolutely LOVE all your statues!
Rita that is my kind of plant also!!!! LOL!!! Now if they would just water themselves!!!!
Me too Rita. Every since I started gardening my husband and son love it. Just get me a gift certificate to a nursery. And I love finding cracks and broken pots at the nurseries. They give excellant prices on those. They think their trash, I think it gives character. LOL
Good morning! : )
Rita, that lady looks just like me right now, my neck hurts on the right side! lol!
It's so hard to find beautiful statues like those. I am constantly looking on ebay and other places but either they're pricey or too cheap!
