some zucchini female flowers seem very yellow - advice?

Lebanon, OH

I have 2 zucchini plants and they are starting to set fruit. I've been hand polinating and so far has picked two fruits.

I don't know if I actually have a problem or not but I thought I'd ask.

I now have 4-5 female flowers on each plant plus a bunch of male flowers on each. What I'm concerned about is two of the female flowers on one plant are very yellow instead of the light-green like the others. These two yellow flowers are still only about an inch-&-a-half or so (including the baby fruit behind the flower).

Do I have a problem with my zucchini or am I being paranoid?

Thanks to anyone for advice :-)

Sounds normal to me if I understand your question. The plant will only support a finite number of females. If it has a number of female blossoms some of them will not make it.

I thought that might've been the case but I didn't want to take a chance.

Thanks Farmerdill. Also, thanks for the other answers about my other veggies before.

I really appreciate it.

Guess I need to take a chill-pill :-)

I have so far been able to pick two nice fruits so far - one each from the two plants I have. Each of them now has 4-5 male flowers and 3 or more young females at various stages of development. I hand polinate them and a female flower opened 3 days ago on one of the plants and it's already a 4 inch fruit.

So far though, each plant has not had more than one fruit growing at a time.

Will they start getting more prolific as the days get hotter, etc.? I mean more than one fruit at a time on each plant?

I live in zone 6a and it was an unusually cool and wet spring. So far I don't see any problems with insects nor disease on the zucchini.

Thanks in advance for any advice :-)
