Marion, aren't you supposed to be in the 'dungeon'? Lol!!!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Well, ladies, MINE may not be eye candy to most people, but he is to me, You see, I remember when..... And when he looks at me, he's the same dark haired, browneyed hunk he was back then, over 50 years ago!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Yes suppose to be in dungeon but keeping coming up for air---pouring rain and I just can't keep my mind on what I'm doing today.

OHhhhh love the picts Kathy! Always have had soft spot for the Grinch. BJ, I've seen your before and agree--gret eye candy.

Oh it does a single woman's heart good.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Okay Jaye, I'll give you that one too but I still like my eye candy..

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

At least your mind's not plastered to the dungeon Marion!

Yes, BJ's man does have that certain debonair look.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Nope, was going through some boxes and putting things in storage under the house but the rains have stopped that!! Fortunately the previous owners had finished underneath and there are really great storage shelves down there. Getting all my gardening things together--yeap some were in a corner.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Wish I can remain organize...another lifetime maybe :D

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, ok... I admit, Don's not really "eye candy" to some people... he definitely can't compete with Tom.
But he does have that "look of character"... yep, and sort of debonair, in a rugged sort of way...

Lucky for you, huh Marion? Ready made shelving... what a deal!!!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

BJ, if Don looks like the pic, he IS a hunk!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

hehehe... well, Audrey... he's my little HUNK...

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good for you BJ! He's the grandest hunk of them all!
Kel says there's one thing that he got that Tom doesn't...and it's me. Whattaman!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, Jaye... Kel has much more than that on Tom... like privacy ... think of all that famous ppl have to go through... I wouldn't want that life.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

"Kelvin's Floodlight"
This dahlia is about 8 inches across. Needs staking.
Yep, a dahlia with his name. Much to his amusement, as dahlias are his favorite flowers.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, that is so beautiful... and I'm sure Kel gets a kick out of having a flower named after him.... and it was, ya know... and don't ever tell him differently.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

So true BJ. That's what I say too. We do value our privacy don't we.
Something the rich and famous couldn't afford!

Lowly marigolds, competing for attention.

You know what I mean..they couldn't afford total privacy..they need the publicity to promote themselves!

I have a question for anybody who has gathered zinnia seed from their plants.
When do I harvest the seed heads?
When the flower fades? or when the stem begins to dry up?
I want to narrow down the mix my sister gave me from her garden last year... just want to keep my favorites... and I have them tagged... but don't know when to harvest seed.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

If I ever finish what I'm doing, I'll take my camera outside again... it's way too hot to be out there for that.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Interesting question. C'mon Deborah, you don't need your mouth to type the answer.
Never grown zinnias. Did you try googling BJ?

This is Kel's first Dahlia that he planted 4 years ago. Never failed to return.

Try that link BJ.

My late mum's favorite jasmine. Asians used them in weddings, besides the famous jasmine rice. Also to scent drinking water.
In Cairo, Egypt, you'll see them everywhere, even on cabbies' dashboards.
Forgot to add the name...."Maid of Orleans"

Thanks Jaye... that site answered my question.

You have such lovely flowers, and such lovely stories along with them...

BUT, air condition break is over... and alas... I must go back out in the heat...
Later Gator.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Don't get too hot!!!!
On with my monologue!
Discovered heat loving trailing begonia.
