Pelle...have never heard of that plant but will look into it for next year!

Albany, GA(Zone 8a)

This would have been a good shot but the leaf got in the way. You can tell he's a handsome young man though.

Nice shots brad!

Also I need to replace my cheap, leaky, and hard to clean feeders. I am looking for some that are EASY to clean, and can maybe be thrown in the dishwasher(I was going to get a couple extra so there would always be clean ones available). 8 Oz is a little small and 16 is kinda big. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

The Hummzingers are great saucer style feeders that are super easy to clean and some styles come with a built in ant moat.

Can't go wrong with the Hummzinger!!

Brad, we understand about those pesky leaves, branches etc. that ruin perfectly good pics! Nice job!

I have tried to get Ed to do stupid bird tricks (as in handfeed) and he just is sooo not gonna do it! lol

My Monarda is just starting to open up, hope to see the same thing Pelle.
I know what you mean about the leaves too Brad. Miss so many good shots, and they don't hang around long enough, for second try.
Rose, what's wrong with his beak? It seems kinda crooked. beautiful shot of it.
Nanny, how long did you have to wait for that pic in the flowers!!! They seem to go more for the feeders , then the flowers for me. I bought some red fushia for them, and haven't seen them in it yet. I keep hoping.

This morning, expecting it to show up somewhere else. I heard the humming sound, but couldn't find him in the viewfinder. Turn my head and there it was.

Cute shot burn!

Thanks, I like the HummZinger® Ultra.

Ants and roaches must be controlled period! That being said I don't have an ant problem cause I keep the whole ant population down as soon as I start seeing them again I treat the yard again. The bees seem to like the flowers alot better than the feeders, I did find a leaf hopper floating in one the other day though.

Everybody has such great pics, I was borrowing my neighbors camera. I am looking for a new camera also, but I need new feeders first.

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

For about 3 weeks now the hummers have been ignoring the feeders and going for the flowers. I just yesterday removed all but 1 feeder from each yard. I guess that I won't need to put them up until fall migration.

How long did I have to wait????.....Well. let's see... IT'S JULY!!!!!

or do you mean since the plant bloomed?.....a couple weeks. :0)

Little bugger taunts me every evening!!

Nanny..that little guy is way too cute for his own good!

Burn...I love the flowers in your pics, so colorful!

Brad...Welcome to the BW Forum!

Nan...The Hummers here go mostly for the feeders but I do see them on the flowers.

It poured down rain for awhile yesterday and I managed to get some pics of a Male Hummer taking a bath. I love it when they do this!!
