Got these a couple evenings ago. I just happen to be at my window with the camera, thank goodness! My neighbors probably wonder about me at the window...I am only 5ft tall, so I stand on stool to get me up over where the top of the lower window casement to take pics out the window! lol

Nice pic Nanny. you make me laugh. I do things too, sometime, that makes them wonder. One neighbor find it's funny when she sees me running around the yard with my camera. She says" time for pictures again huh". With me, it's not only birds, I'm fanatic with flowers also.
I missed a good shot this morning of the hummingbird in the delphiniums. But I'll keep watching, he'll be back.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

LOL! Yep, I am out in the mornings photographing the plants too!

Beautiful shot Marna! I've never seen one of those! What is that beautiful flower?

We have been putting up hay and it looks like all is done now...hopefully life will get back to normal! I think the adult Hummers are off playing house again...not sure. We have about 20 and they are eating over half a gallon of nectar a day...little piggies!!

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

wow.
wow.

That beautiful flower is "larkspur." It is a self-seeding annual. If you let it (which I do) it will come up everywhere the following year. it's in this blue/purple, white and pink. I have a couple plants that are tinged in white too. Want some seeds???? I have plenty!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Beautiful rose!

Nice hummimgbird moth Marna! I haven't seen any yet this year???

Disputanta, VA(Zone 7a)

1/2 gal a day? Wow is right. Thanks for all the beautiful pictures posted here. I wonder if anyone knows how to figure out the sounds the ruby-throated hummingbirds make. I can differentiate at least 3 different things they "say" & it's as if they are the loudest when they are bullying each other. They chase each other away from the feeder or just chase each other whenever. Sometimes there are 4 birds in on it. I wonder who else has noticed this & might have any ideas?

I just know I love hearing that little chatter sound!!

couple shots from yesterday afternoon...as I was melting!
