I finally weeded, lol, here is a combo I like. Perennial sunflower, balloon flowers, and 'Zagreb' coreopsis.

Gosh! I don't check for a day or two and here we are (5) threads later!!
Here's a shot of my "Garbage Bag Garden" pond. An old 16 x 20 tarp and some concrete debris. I have been planning this creek (*pronounced crick) for years (20 or so), starting with a friend's busted up back patio piled high in the background and overplanted with pines. Now that things are growing in, I can see where I need to build up, revise and re-create. Maybe I will have it finished within the next decade. Ha! At least I now know what size pond liners I will need to get.
I want the stream to start way back up under the pines and spill out into the creek (to the right) which feeds down into the pond area. I am starting to collect better stone from the lake house to place around the perimeter.
Any ideas?? Suggestions??

WillieB that is a lovely pond area. I like the hill and pine area as a starting point, will look very natural I think. I have no experience with pond or bog plants so cannot help you there, but you look to be starting in the right direction to me. Post more pics as you work on this lovely project won't you.
Thanks, ngam! I can't wait for the double day lilies to start blooming along what is the right side of the pond. Shouldn't be too long now. Definitely post photos of that. Hopefully they will look as nice as all of yours do.
Also, the creek will run on the LEFT side of the pines (*my right side ;-) ) Sorry 'bout that.

Gee--can't believe what nice flowers everyone has! We'll be dreaming of these in Jan. The DL's are really outstanding, folks! Here is orange cosmos --from Plainfield, NH!
And some floppy salvia--plumeria--I think, that loves to spill over the rock wall.
And some variegated meadowsweet--it has formed a large clump--the green-leaved variety has remained very small.
And finally--a 21/2 month old Grant in his Daddy's arms--as always!
He's a big boy!! Glad to see him doing good and loving daddy!
