Good morning sistas.
It rained all night and this morning, when I opened the door, mosquitoes were anxious to greet me!
Off to pick up supplies, so you all have a great Monday..and oh yes, Marion, isn't it today that sister Kathy's returning or yesterday...she'll be recuperating from her trip to Florida. Wonder what plants she'll bring back with her.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning, thanks for the new room. Pull up the chair, while we wait for everyone to wake. I got the coffee.

Morning everyone.

I brought the donuts.

Was up late worried about Stacey, and had to check on her this morning first thing... no word.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

hi, i finally found y'all

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I was just about to ask if Tinky has checked in today. Hope all is going well for her. Linda Kay, coffee please but I think I will skip the donuts, thanks anyway BJ, and have some peach pie instead. Jaye, a small slice please!

Welcome back Kathy. Read you had to leave the fun early--so sorry!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

yep, but i still had a wonderful trip. brought back a bushel of georgia peaches

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

OOooo... there are no peaches like Georgia peaches...
I remember driving through Georgia several years ago... could just smell them in the air... had to stop and buy a little basket of them... and ate them while I was driving... one right after the other... just the basket left when I got to Virginia...
Then I did it again on the way home...

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

nothing better than fresh peaches

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

...agree with that--especially if turned into a fresh peach pie with 'niller ice cream.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

will be thinking ogf you when i bake that pie

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Ummm... bake one for me... a whole pie... I can eat it all..by myself.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

My mom used to slice fresh peaches, sprinkle them with sugar, and oh my. A true dessert from heaven.
Stacey, you have to check in and let us know how your doing. Or do we all have to make a road trip, and knock on your door? Ladies get your wet vac ready!
Be safe everyone, and watch out for those nasty slimy things.
Linda Kay

Good morning sistas. Welcome back Sis.
Never had peach crisp, but I love peach pie and peach cobbler and peaches and cream.
There was a restaurant back in Ville Platte, Louisiana that served fresh peaches with cream made out of condensed milk. It was soooo goood.

Found this recipe..seems simple. Think I'll try it with some peach brandy added and to save time, instant cool whip.

Warm Peaches with Whipped Cream
6 ripe yellow peaches
6 tablespoons unsalted butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cut each peach in half, then cut each half into 4 slices. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Reduce heat to medium-low, sprinkle the sugar over the butter, and stir until dissolved, about 1 minute. Add the peaches, increase heat to medium-high, and cook, stirring frequently, until the peaches are softened and coated with a thin sauce, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand a few minutes. Meanwhile, in a bowl, beat the cream and vanilla until soft peaks form. Spoon the peaches and sauce into bowls and serve with a dollop of whipped cream.

sounds yummy! thanks for the recipe sis

I bet Stacey went to work!
Y'all have fun with the peach pie! I love it! Want some Bailey's to flacor the icecream? Send me a bowl of both together!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

audry, if you leave now the pie will be warm when you get here. don't forget to bring the baileys

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You must have about a dozen empty bottles by now. They'll make great candle holders, Audrey.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

shhhh Jaye don't tell!!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lolol...Marion...either that or some exotic vases :P

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

That's an idea too. The poor brain cells are working over time. How about light post for our mini gardens?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, go check out the brug forum "she's about to...5.". You'd find something you like there. :D

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

OOOOOOH! Bailey's flavored peaches! Would that be anything like Brandied Peaches?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Be more chocolatey! But we are all chocoholics here right?
Say Audrey...I told AuntB that she can find you here. Sorry, I gave your hiding place away...I'm off to the corner---------->>

Plano, TX

i put a little flavored (vanilla) coffee creamer over my peaches--it is so good--i think the baileys over it would be good too!

Plano, TX

i am making soap today--the house smells so good!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That's a good idea there Linda. Less sugar, unlike condensed milk.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Supposed to be at the stove, making blueberry preserves....feeling kinda worn out. Maybe tonight.
Had never attempted making soap. What do you use?

Plano, TX

i use a melt and pour product that i buy in huge ammounts online and then add scent, color and other things--some purist soapmakers start from scratch but i take that shortcut--

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Smart woman Linda. God gives us commonsense, so we better use it.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

'S'all right, Jaye!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Big relief...thanks Audrey.
I got my hot glue gun out, some beads...think I'll continue with phase b of kitchen swap.
