Howdy Doody is sacred up here near Buffalo.
His creator Bob Smith is an icon.
Me and my Sister and Brother would be glued to the TV at 4:00.
No pyrotecnicks just wholesome fun." Remember to wash your hands and brush your teeth"
Good table manners and considerate of others.
He would never make it in this world where kids expext exploding busses.

Pirle
I agree with you Jo Ann, although Elmo seems to be doing pretty well these days!!
I am one of the Peanut Gallery, too.
Howdy Doody scares me...
Whenever i see dummies like that (o be quiet, you know what i mean!), i think of that Twilight Zone episode http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0734636/ , or the movie Magic http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077889/ with Anthony Hopkins, which i must have been exposed to at too young of an age!
And ... "Chuckie - Chuckie - Chuckie"!!
I know who Chuckie is if you are talking about that evil doll!
Hi, Arlene!
Thanks, Al and ge! It was my pleasure to send them.
Hi AYC!
Hey - so this is where you've been hiding, Pirl and Al!! If Victor hadn't mentioned this thread, I'd be in the dark still wondering where you guys had gone! LOL
Pirl - Harry is just the cutest lounging beside that JM! He's quite the photogenic little guy!
I can see you have been very busy in the garden! Everything is looking really good!
Louise
I remember re-runs or something like that of Howdy Doody. I remember Señor Wences too. "S'alright". And, you're never too old for Looney Tunes! I have all the old classics. Never saw Chuckie.
To me, Chuckie is Chuck Barris from the Gong Show!
Hi Louise - I'm hiding - don't look.
Victor - I think I know what Gene means to you also then.
Hi Al! I've missed your posts - both your humor and your photos! Good to hear from you. How are things in Wisconsin this summer? Must be beautiful there????
Don't be mean, mean, Al...
Hi Al!!!!!! miss you!!!!
Hi Al, I've missed you, too!
Me too Al! Whatcha been upto?
I bet he's keeping his eyes on his dahlias.
Always loved someone elses Dhalias. Too much work for me.
Only one Kass - those roses pull out easy with gloves on you know!
Thanks guys, I'm still around - just not in a lot of threads that I won't keep up on.
Now you have no choice, Al.

Good one, Victor!
Pirl, you said,
"It is peaceful when the mowing, edging and blowing brigades aren't around at the neighbor's homes."
I agree! I'm grateful that three houses that touch my property use the same landscaper on the same day. So I know not to go out on Wednesday mornings until around noon!
The three closest to me all use the same crew and it's almost always Thursday.
I am the landscaper for three of the houses around me! lol
Might have been a funny scene to see me spraying trees in front of a cancer treatment center today.
I have enough trouble trying to keep up with our own gardens! But, I admire all of you who can give time to another's gardens. What a great labor of love that must be!
Do you have the emerald ash borer there, Al?
No sightings in WI yet. I spray a lot for Apple scab.
Al, I think I have Apple scab on my apples. What do you use as spray?
Article in local paper about Ash Borer. So we have it here in Z6a
That's a bummer. Pain in the ash.
Victor!!!
I've been reading up on Eggplant Fruit and Shoot Borer and quite frankly, it terrifies me. Leucinodes orbonalis is a minor pest in the Americas....so far.....
