Pirle
Thank you to the person who told me about this thread.
Hope all is well with you and your lovely family, Joy. I loved being in your home and in your gardens.
Glad to see your post Pirl.
The little yellow DL's you sent me are about to bloom,I moved the Chocolate Cherry Dream and It's doing better, might bloom with the "Starling and Chicago Firecracker" that have budded.
Your DL display ia a knock out.
OK I need to know what verigated plant is interplanted w/ cream lilies.
Not Bishops mantle I hope.
Thank you.
It's the dreaded and impossible to remove, Houttuynia cordata 'Chameleon'. It will be here 1,000 years after I'm gone.
Thanks for the headsup on the plant. It's pretty in the picture.
Just as bad as Bishops Mantel though.
Beautiful Pirl and I see the ajuga is in check
Yep !1 thats about how it looks now.
Looking good Pirlene!
Here is Chocolate Cherry Dream in its new spot with the wave petunias(not my favorit color) but they were $1.00 per pot and I needed ground cover fast.
I don't see anything that looks like a stem yet but the transplant was a month ago so it's a bit behind.
Looks beautiful, Pirl! Love the JI's and the darl purple DL's, especially. Don't mention the Houttuynia - it's killing me this year. It really took off the past two years. Worst of all, I planted it! One of the first things I planted before I knew any better.
Forgot to say - was that an Al sighting??
I've got Pirl's back...........it's not an easy job and it doesn't pay well and ....not sure why I do it really ;)
I'll take anyone's back - mine sucks.
Even hairy?
Sure - I can transplant some to my head.
Sounds like a plan.
I prefer a hairy woman's back though...
Hmmmm? Wonder if George 'The animal' Steele had any kids.
That turnbuckle diet was all the rage.
It feels good to be back on track.
Thanks Victor and Al! I've even got two dahlias blooming.
Victor - I did Houttuynia to myself, too! When Round Up doesn't kill a plant you know how bad it is. I can't even give away any of the daylilies in the big long garden at the right side. That colorful weed has taken 40' of width and is mixed in with the daylilies now.
Sounds like your back is singing the blues, Victor, but here's the JI 'Sing the Blues'.
Love the JI with the yellow lily
Very nice combo, Pirl. So what do you do about the chameleon? Have you given up?
I thought I had those chameleons here - turned out they were phantoms or was it mirages.
Hey, Pirl! Great garden shots!!
Wish mine would morph into something else, like a good chameleon would.
Pile I enjoyed the pictures of your flowers. The JI are just lovely.I had one and it bloomed a few years but now it is losy in my jungle.Love the bouquet of DL mine are jusy starting.Stella dora.I had the garden looked after proffesionally this year.Looks much tidier. You would approve.Daghter in law is in Sweden witha group of CISC teens,Danielle is in mexico as a junior leader with CISV,Kevin returns tomorrow from amonth in Sweden.CISV stands for Canadian International childrens villages. It's a great education for the young people..Jared is at Kings Landing working as a waiter at Kingshead Inne 1825 costume and all.Andy and Amanda oare keeping the Joy of Framing going..The girls are at the lake.JOY
Victor - I gave up. It's running rampant and on occasion I'll dig some out but I know it's useless. I've already gone down a foot and the roots run deeper than that. At least it's a pretty weed but pulling it out reminds me of the bean scene in "Blazing Saddles". Phew!
Thanks ge and darius!
Al, you never change - thank God!
I hope Al changes once in a while. Hygiene has its good points.
