Speaking of "Iron Jawed Angles" If you want to see male chauvanism (sp)at its best, I just watched "Mad Men" season 1 on disc. I sure have forgotten a lot.
Glad, not only for Susan B Anthony but Germaine Grieer and Betty Friedan for starting womens movement part 2

First up, a Gilbert H. Wild and Sons DL, I have no idea what it is, and since I am not a big honkin fan of the reds, I know it is not one that I specifically ordered.

Here's a nice little un planned combo, balloon flower with 'Zagreb' coreopsis.

This is the perennial sunflower, directly in front, and under it, is the above pic with the balloon flower and 'Zagreb'

I had 2 flowers open, they were both FFO (lol), this is supposed to be 'Painted Bunting.' I'm hoping that as the plant matures, the flowers will look like what they are supposed to...the link to what it is supposed to look like is here: http://www.artgallerygardens.com/cultivars/painted_bunting.htm

Here is Yarrow 'Terra Cotta' If you squint closely enough, there is a purplish flower in the top left of the pic, I couldn't quite get it in focus, but that is a reseeder from last year, I'm not sure if it's a type of Malva or what it is...it's pretty though!

Al-This ones for you. I have no idea what the name of the dahlia is, so far, all of the packaged dahlias I bought at HD and Lowe's look nothing like what the package has a picture of. This, so far, is one of my favorites, the flower is about 6-7" around!

I'm not so shure about your DL the petals look awfully full to be the same DL in the link.
I love my Terrecotta Yarrow and wish I had bought twice as many and put them in other places.

I was watering my Earthboxes last night, and spotted the next 2 pics. Two of my most favorite summer time veggies. This year I planted 4 different colors of sweet peppers, and 2 different zucchini.

Here are the purple/black sweet peppers, should be ready in about a week or so...maybe a wee bit longer :-)

ge--I'm gonna post it on the DL forum. Some of the folks over there have directly spoken with the hybridizers, there is one DG'er that actually assists one of the biggies at their hybridizations. So...I will check into it...if they say no way in heck...I'm gonna be tracking someone down through the lily auction for DL fraud (if there is such a thing!)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

DL fraud brings all sorts of threads to mind.
ROGUE DayLilies I have known.
RECOVERY gardens for missled and addicted DL's
DayLilies Gone Wrong
I am waiting for Victors wit to chime in.
I would be PI**** if I had spent the time and patients to plant and wait for bloom and I wasn't what I ordered in a color I'm not fond of.

ge-if they are really tiny 1 eyed divisions, pot them up in a 4-5" container, and baby them. By the end of the summer you should be able to plant them, they might just need the extra nudge. I do that with all of my Hosta that I get. Most of the newer varieties are really small eyes, on top of being only 1 eyed divisions. I pot them up, and around the end of August or so I will plant them out.

I wondered if it was too sunny.
The space gets early AM sun then shade rest of the day.

Victor, I think your weed is linaria--maybe Dr. Cannon Went--planted it 1 yr., but not hardy here. Pix--the DL's are fantastic--I have nothing that nice. Also the tomato & pepper photos want to make me cry--I may get some in Sept.! Here is DL Jade Star.
