Blooming in July........

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

Lantana with green lynx spider and bumblebee. The spiders are a bit evil - they hang out on the flowers waiting to nab unsuspecting butterflies and moths (and when they get really big at the end of the summer they will even get a bee every now and then).

My Anisacanthus never has that many flowers at one time and I've had it several years now.

I know I've posted this Canna before but I just adore these flowers.

Oh WOW Tom, your Anisacanthus is awesome; also, your picture is so much better than the one PDN has for it.

I bought one years ago from Yucca Do and while it was still a baby, the DH thought it was a weed and sprayed it with RU. Grrrrrrrr

Awesome pictures!!! Ok, Tom...you're making us all wanna come over, lol!

Tom: That plumeria is absolutely gorgeous! And what a great photo of it! WOW.
Rednyr: I got that Siam Tulip at Home Depot, believe it or not. They had bunches of 'em.

Our Lowe's always has them this time of year. Mine do not come back reliably but it might be because I often forget where I have planted them and foolishly plant something else on top. ;-(

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

LOL. I have often done the same, Ardesia. I did get my "regular" pink ones at Lowe's last year, btw.

Awww, what a little beauty.

Tom - great crisp looking pics. How did you get them so "crispy" looking. Macro setting?? I think that lantana looks and sounds like Miss Huff. I bought my Miss Huff 4years ago, acts like one big perrenial and looks like yours.

How do you keep your Crinum standing up? Mine always fall over. It's annoying.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

my crinum americanum is just now blooming this is its first set of flowers that i'll see because the last one was while i was in india...im very excited

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Some crinums are better at standing up than others; I usually stake the lazy ones.

Mrs. BR Cant is looking good. Do you think you've seen the worst of the Japanese beetles now?

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

I know I've seen only a couple the past week or two, so I think they're on the way out down here at least. My garden looked like I was raising JBs last month!

I'm not sure if the Japanese Beetles are on the ebb yet or not. One of my rugosa seedlings had beautiful buds on it that will probably be eaten tomorrow.

TomH: you don't happen to be from Lenoir, do you? Enjoyed your photos.

Rednyr: what is the Latin name for the butterfly bush? I'm not familiar with that.

Thanks to you both.

Seabrook, SC(Zone 8b)

The latin name for the blue butterfly bush that Rednyr posted is Clerodendrum ugandense.

Borders: Thank you for your response. I'll have to get some of that. I also would like to have some of the Glorybower, both shrub and vine forms, if anyone knows where I can get it.
